I wish there was a censorship on ass raping enemies in the game. When i started gaming with prince of persia, I always felt like i was never taking on a formidable foe in a game that was supposed to be action. But when i started playing capcom action games like street fighter, Capcom Vs SNK 2, Godhand i smashed controllers in frustration when i get killed when i least expect it.
On censoring contents, Yeah i think it is necessary to censor if its not appropriate for the audience , for eg , sexual content. Ofcourse, there are sources for sexual content that mature audience is aware off and some may be comfortable with it and those that are not comfortable with it might wanna stay away from it. Censorship helps such people from being caught off-guard with such contents which was not expected by the audience. Eg: Adding sexual content in an action game is unnecessary and irrelevant where the context is action unless it has a twisted notion of sexual appeal.
I was really annoyed with dante being a man-whore in DMC 3 and was mis-lead that action characters were all about sexual appeal. I was all about characters like vergil but when i was very angry to know the end of vergil and the fact the characters who are sexually appealing can prevail over those that are not. I am not against people who prefer sexual themes but have respect to those who resist this temptation for a better cause. I used to go to church and thought of pursuing sexual themes was totally holding me guilty for not being a sincere devotee. So i stopped pursuing them though there was a time i was obsessed with sexual themes.
So i guess, Censorship helps prevent those audience who don't wanna be caught off-guard with content they are not comfartable with.
