Hey guys, I'm not sure if it was already posted, but I've just found it:

Lmao. Remember when it was japanese games being censored for the west? This is just weird.
 
True, I don't understand the whole "being censored" thing. It's a game directed to adults, so obviously it's gonna have a mature content.

That's like watching Saw movies being censored, when none of them were. Game's ratings are basically movies ratings. If you can't handle such kind of content, then you always have the choice to play other games.
 
While censorship is wrong, I'm curious to know just how bad the sexual content is and if it was even necessary. Right from the start I got the feeling it was in there more for the heck of it rather than it actually contributing something.

Just reading a bit of that and making Dante 'cool', Is the sexual content also supposed to make it cool?
When I played Dante's Inferno, I cringed and thanked my lucky stars i wasn't playing it in front of my parents... I dread to think how they'll react to this :lol:

Like I said, I don't know what to make of this. Is adding that type of content the only way to make a game 'westernised'?

exactly, not once have they tried to sell to a younger audience like so many other 18 games out there. and from the style weve seen recently its not in excess ie not trown in there for shock or anything stupid like that. nt are trying to tell a mature story and are using the tools they have to portray it. people should just let them do what they want to. if the game suffers because of it, then only theyre to blame. but its wrong to censor them and thus cause them to suffer.
 
I wonder how far the sex scenes will go then. And if we'll ever see Johnson Wang Dingdong at any moment which is something japan is completely strict about not showing.

Guess for the Japanese version they'll be pressing the mute button on that Mundus/Lilith scene, eh? :lol:
 
Perhaps with the sexual content, but I don't understand the logic behind censoring a game known for it's stylish, and clearly violent action for being too violent.

That's like censoring water for being too wet.

Oh well, either that or they'll probably cut the scene completely, lol.

I wonder how God of War 3 wasn't censored there. It's much more violent than a ton of movies, lol. Yeah, go figure.

They have to censor gore and decapitation and **** like that in Japan because it's literally against the law, usually, to depict decapitation. This is partially the reason why enemies don't bleed much in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, instead they spurt out this purple or green mist.
 
Honestly, i had this fear after the rating mature news... Fortunately, only in Japan... I remember when Manhunt 2 was censored in Europe... Bad Day...

There are lots of loopholes to the laws, hence why there is so much alien colored tentacle dicks instead of normal man parts. As for the decapitation it really depends on how it's being decapitated. When it's cut off, it's a big wag of the finger.
 
I have never been a fan of censoring. So knowing that Japan is censoring the game makes me worry about the Europe release. There are many Japan and Korean games which have some pretty explicit content at Mature ratings, so I can only wonder what it is in DmC that the Japanese wish to censor and at the same time hope that nothing will be censored for the European release.
 
It is a it ironic that it's the Japan version that'll be censored considering what their digital porn novels are like. Justthe same, I find censorshit a bit pointless. Someone in Japan will upload those scenes to youtube or whatever and the whole country will get to see them with minimum effort. I blame the parents.

The only hing that matters is that the censorship doesn't put a gap or affect thestory in some way.
