DmC a juggling act?

It's only slightly easier to stay in the air this time around.

Compared to Bayonetta, where you could stay in the air for eternity without jump cancelling and pull off some amazing combos if you wanted.

Who only fights on the ground in dmc3? I sure don't. I fight where ever the battle takes me. If i need to chip away at an enemy, like the slow walking summoning demon, i ground and pound the hell outta that guy, but if i can high time an enemy and kill him before he hits the floor, then i'll just do that. The focus on the aerial combat doesn't seem to take away from the ground combat, it just give you the same amount of options as you would have on the ground but in the air this time.
We all play different right? some of us think DMC is hard as hell and they have no time to be fancy. Some people just don't have any "style" at all (like my friend) and just hack the same 3 combos through out the hole game. Some people seems to have experience with hack and slash and get a good understand of how fast and the range of each weapon and have timing to pull off some interesting combos. Some people are just beast at the game and its awe inspiring to watch. DmC gives you tons of options to dispose of enemies, its like a combat sandbox.

About Devil Trigger, it's not "air only" as far as I know, I believe that you have the regular devil trigger meter, but as soon as you go to an air combo, the Devil Trigger will last as long as you stay there. If you touch the ground it's over, so having Devil Trigger for as long as you can will be some kind of skill challenge.

And no, it won't be as simple as launch -> pull yourself (over and over again) becase as indicated in some trailer (I believe TGS Extended one) and The Secret gameplay, there is "a rooftop", and if you get there Dante will automatically launch a charged punch like move to the ground, an area attack. So if you just launch and pull yourself like 3 times you will basically do like 6 hits and lose your Devil Trigger. Jump Cancelling would be much more suited to stay longer in the air.

YOu think people would actually jump cancel...when you can clearly see the spamage of Dante's Devil Bringer....and they made the DT were when you activate it enemies get sent directly into the air...the game is going to be much...much...much easier....that is why I don't like the combat

for anyone afraid that air combat will dominate the game, that is not true at all. in fact if you don't want air combat don't press the launcher button. there is a whole button just for popping people into the air so if you don't want that then you don't have to at all. in fact you could probably go most of the game without going in the air at all.

Making stylish combos will be easier, the game itself we don't know yet. It's not like you needed jump cancelling in previous DMC games, I'm sure you'll find people in this very forum that never did jump cancelling and yet beat DMC3, even on harder difficulty settings.

You can finish a DMC game just spamming Stinger and Helm Breaker.

As far as I know yes. Dante in all the trailers stays on DT only while he is in the air. I think it's also confirmed somewhere (probably some interview I would guess) but since I'm not really trying to keep track of the game and only watch/read stuff when I occasionally stumble upon them here, I can't pinpoint you to a source. For that my apologies. If I'm wrong, then that would be greatXD

Yea I remember hearing about that as well a while back.

If that is true than this DT is going to be even lamer in my honest opinion.

This DT's power already seems to be "weaker" than a normal DT would appear to be and barely looks like it provides any power increase, I remember seeing a trailer of it in action and it taking forever for DT Dante to kill enemies. I'm not saying the power should be strong enough to one shot enemies but it should at least provide a power and speed boost like in other games, but I could be wrong about it not providing that power, but from those trailers I seen it certainly did not look like it provided much of anything other than turning the world black and white and launching enemies into the air.

From recent gameplay some enemies have shields which cancel out his Devil Bringer once. The early grunt enemies had something to make the whip useless (even if it's only once) so the later stronger enemies may be very resistant to it like the Frosts in DMC4. You may need to develop more skill to use it on higher difficulties..

I'm a little lost (in my own thread) some body catch me up please.
Basically the way you juggle is with your guns and moves like prop and shredder. The whip is a spammable ability but some enemies, even low level enemies, have some sort of defense and can block the whip, compromising your stylish score. Ground combat has more combos with Rebellion and with Osiris and i guess Arbiter can attack even faster at the end of a combo string. Aerial combat is as vast as the ground is. The thing i think people are scared of is while your in the air, there is no need to be afraid of attacks. Same as before in DMC, except now the combat in air has far more variety than before and placing you in a safe spot from enemies, well, except those flying babies i guess and maybe more enemies through out the game. Um the DT is a mini game of sorts.

I always came to the speculation that this DT form is just fan service to fans. This is the one thing that I didn't like from Ninja Theory.

It's a reboot, so get classic Dante out of there.

yeah i agree. one of the only things i don't like about the game is also the dt, but hopefully they evolve it throughout the game somehow that players will actually have fun using it.

Tameem said something about the Osiris being a charged weapon. Anyone notice the Osiris charging at any point?
oh and here is the whole demo at captive from the mysterious voice all the way to the church wise crack.

I think the DT is set on a timer, the tgs demo walkthrough shows dante fighting on the ground in DT and falling onto the ground and jumping back up into the air and continues fighting while in DT

yeah.
although the this time his overall strength seems the same as his regular form and he is obviously faster
