DmC a juggling act?

I like the new DmC so far, but the combat is not its strongest aspect. So far we've seen New Dante juggle demons in the air using slow dragging attacks. I don't dig it much. Ok New Dante looks like he has more attacks than Classic Dante. (All you need is Stinger and High Time to beat any of the games really) But I liked how Classic Dante's moves felt "strong." One Stinger and a demon would go flying but New Dante seems to only shine when he juggles enemies otherwise he just seems like a less impression Nero. Does this bother anyone else?

P.S. I'n not hating on Nero or his game play. Nero for the win!

Well, juggling those demons bothers me less than Dino just levitating in the air. It feels way too easy and looks like they've over-done air combos. In fact, with Nero, it was a little harder to stay up in the air than with Dino.

It was said almost from the start that the new Devil May Cry would focus alot more on aerial combat, so of course they would make it easier to stay airborne and deal lots of combos and damage while in the air. It isn't juggling when you do aerial combat, juggling is when you are on the ground and prevents the opponent from landing by dealing a continuous combo. Aerial combat is not new for Devil May Cry, it just has alot more focus on it this time around, but no one is forcing you to make use of it. If you prefer to battle on the ground, then do so.

Nero could just snatch and slam every enemy on the screen while in the air, how is that harder?

Until the enemy was out of the DB's reach. Until the enemies were those ghost thingies.

I guess I'm clear this time?
somewhat clear. Thank god DMC4 made an enemy that you couldn't grab, or at least not at first.

DmC's juggling doesn't look to complicated, just like Nero's snatch, but it seems like the player can make it way more complicated given all the additional moves at his disposal.

This is something that I liked about previous games too but I think this is something you can only tell when you have a controller in your hand since i never got that feeling while watching youtube but when i was actually playin the game.

The stinger in DmC does push back enemies like before. But i haven't seen just the stinger attack only the trillion stab which is why it doesn't seem as powerful than a single attack

Well so far, every time a new trailer gets around we see more stuff and more moves. I'm a person who likes the original stuff that are like the game's signature moves being kept in some form or other, so since we already have Air Hike, Stinger, Million Stab etc, I'm kinda ok. New stuff are great as long as they don't try to MAKE you use them no matter what.

For example, I'll share my experience in Assassin's Creed. In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, a new weapon is introduced. The Crossbow. I love Crossbows and all, so I was very eager to get it, and loved using it throughout the game. The game didn't make me buy it. It was purely optional. And that's ok.

In Assassin's Creed Revelations however, the bombs are introduced, with a HUGE variety of them, and they try to make you use them ALL the time. I dislike bombs. They make noise, they are easy to get you mixed up in the explosion and other stuff like that that make me not like them. Not in ACR, I mean in general AND ACR as well. So yeah, when the game WANTED me to use the bombs all these times in story assassinations/infiltrations in order to reach the next place (not talking about the full sychronization thing mind you) I was really ticked off.

Same thing will probably happen if they keep the DT in DmC as an air-only move. I don't particularly dislike fighting in the air, but I love fighting in the ground. But if they take away one of my favorite features like DT, and tell me "only available as long as you stay airborne" then yes, I'll be annoyed. If Angel Trigger or somethings replaces the feature of the old DT, then I'll have no problem at all, but the way things stand...

The Bomb Mask from The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask come to mind.
Wait DT can only be used in the air?! Please tell me I read that wrong.
A very good example by the way. :)

As far as I know yes. Dante in all the trailers stays on DT only while he is in the air. I think it's also confirmed somewhere (probably some interview I would guess) but since I'm not really trying to keep track of the game and only watch/read stuff when I occasionally stumble upon them here, I can't pinpoint you to a source. For that my apologies. If I'm wrong, then that would be greatXD

A very good example by the way. :)

Thank you^^

^I didn't even know the trailers contained DT footage. Just how many trailers are their?
Your welcome. :)
Topic: Having Dante fight in mid air makes his fighting style different from Classic Dante. New Dante may have familar moves but he like I said earlier a Dante version of Nero. I like Nero's fighting style but this looks weird. Also Ebony & Ivory's look to be weak as well.

Dante's transformation that involves his hair turning white and his coat red, which led to countless (wrong) theories that this Dante is the old one we know from the previous games, just younger, is now the DT.

You can check the trailers that DragonMaster2010 posted here. The 2nd and 3rd videos contain Dante transforming.

Did NT ever say why they chose to make this game air combo friendly?
I dont have a link or anything but NT pretty much just wanted to make players feel just as awesome in the air as they do on the ground. So long air combos are now accessible to the average player but from what they've been saying good or awesome air combos or awesome combos in general are still left the the veteran and hardcore players.

NT also said that you could upgrade the weapons so that might give hardcore fans a more powerful feel when stringing up combos.

So making this game easier for new folks but at the same time giving the hardcores a good challenge. Ok but here is a question if the air combat is "good" will the ground combat be equally as good? Could I perhaps rank up style points by fighting stylish on the ground?

The people playing the game play it different than us. I'm sure there are some awesome ground combos too.
