That is absolutely true. I'd like to see DMC4 reimagined as a finished game. Call it DMC4 Deluxe Remaster to get the most egregious renaming convention you've ever seen.

That's one thing I've not read is the novels. I'd like to dig in and do that. Maybe not the Japanese ones til I learn Japanese. But they did they explained it in novels except it’s in japanese
Also they made prequel mangas of DMC V and I’m sure there already transcribed them online for freeThat's one thing I've not read is the novels. I'd like to dig in and do that. Maybe not the Japanese ones til I learn Japanese.
I like DMC 2 also, classic skins and characters from previous title and story but I get why people didn’t like Dante, he was to mature (I didn’t mind) but ever since that collab with shin megami tensei, it look like it made the ground work for DMC 3, how do I know? Because it said the Devil Triggers of Dante and Vergil were taken by their art designI am getting deeper into the mechanics of DMC2. It is terribly difficult to S-Rank missions on this game. I find it harder than DMC3 or DMC5. But the good thing about it is that the game clearly communicates what it is looking for with respect to stats. The only thing that it does not do is tell you your numerical score during fights. DMC3 is also guilty of this. DMC5 fixed that, telling you the actual number. What a difference that makes as to whether you need to reset on a run of a mission or not.
Pretty much, if you want to S-Rank DMC2 missions you just have to play perfectly no matter the difficulty. You can maybe afford 1-2 hits against you. But the room for error is slim.
I am unashamedly using the super characters to get the S-Ranks, and I don't see anything wrong with that, though Mission 5 with Lucia pretty much requires no-super character, as you will take too much damage from passive health loss if you don't have healing heart DT engaged for the sprint from the evil heart item to it's destination near the end of the stage.
The game is challenging, and some of it is because of poor game design. That's a given, but there is some fun to be had in going for S-Ranks. You actually have to understand the mechanics of the game, and on DMD it is no joke. Except on first playthrough of DMD there is really no point that you won't survive an encounter until Mission 12 for Lucia, Mission 17 for Dante. Trismagia's boss fight on DMD is near impossible to S-Rank. I think I'll be leaving that for last. Not actually looking forward to that, but on attempts I can attest that you have to GET GUD, or you won't get close to an S-Rank. I'm enjoying the requirement to level up my skill level in order to meet the challenge.
Here is an image of my progress for Lucia thus far: https://files.catbox.moe/gvuu9x.jpg
Dante looks really cool in DMC2. He has obviously great design in the game. The problem with the game is the gameplay itself due to poor enemy AI. The enemies look pretty cool, especially the corpses in cages. That's a scary concept and reminiscent of what actually happened to medieval people that were pronounced heretics. For them to come back to life as demonic enemies is sort of fitting.I like DMC 2 also, classic skins and characters from previous title and story but I get why people didn’t like Dante, he was to mature (I didn’t mind) but ever since that collab with shin megami tensei, it look like it made the ground work for DMC 3, how do I know? Source: as Kazuma Kaneko, the principal artist for SMT, designed Dante's and Vergil's DT forms as part of a crossover trade where Dante appeared in SMT III: Nocturne.
So if you think about it, if the Collab never happened we wouldn’t have gotten Dante’s popular personality and Vergil lol
Man I dunno how I beat the game and unlocked everything lolDante looks really cool in DMC2. He has obviously great design in the game. It's neat to find out that the DT was designed as it was because of SMT. That's pretty awesome. I've never played those games, except the first hour of Persona 3 and like 3 hours of Persona 5.
The camera is the very worst in the series though. Gives me a literal headache at times. When it stutters it will often feel like watching a home movie. I hate the hand-cam feel. I will say, that DMC5's camera can be annoying in its own way, however. I took a stupid hit on DMC5 today playing as Vergil because I got behind a pillar and could not move the camera while I did a combo. I prefer a fixed camera from DMC3 or DMC4 but with some level of control over it.
His gunplay is pretty awesome, too. DMD stylish play forces you to learn the mechanics properly, and it actually makes the guns feel pretty great, or at least a lot better than just holding the shoot button down.
The more I play it, the more I see how difficult it is to master. I was so close last night to getting an S-rank against Trismagia, but suffered 4 hits instead of just 2, taking me from a B rank to a D for damage. I had S on all other stat lines, and wound up with an A for the mission. Going to have to git gud, or I'll never finish it.Man I dunno how I beat the game and unlocked everything lol

I'm doing a Super Trish run on that particular mission for both Dante's disc and Lucia's disc. I find she is far easier to work with due to her move set.
