One of this year's most anticipated PSP titles and one of the last. Dissidia is a spinoff of the Final Fantasy universe, thriving on the genre of fighting games, its premise based on Kingdom Hearts. Unlike past FF titles, this is the first true crossover FF game, containing 20 playable characters, two for ten each, spanning from the first Final Fantasy game to Final Fantasy X. Each chosen character from each title are the main heroes and villains from their respective worlds opposing each other as they serve their commanding leader, Cosmos and Chaos respectively for the Crystals. In addition, each character has their own unique special abilities that translate from their abilities as seen in the RPGs. In addition, each character has an EX-Mode that correlates to either their class, Limit Break or other abilities. Villains on the other hand with the exception of Garland will take on alternate forms, reminscent of their 'final forms'. Characters designed by Tetsuya Nomura (VII, VIII, and X) will have their appearances taken after Yo****aka Amano

From the first game comes Warrior of Light with his opposition being Garland, the main villain of that game. Warrior of Light uses a sword and shield and is most balanced character in the game because of his class status as a Warrior. Garland on the other hand is slow but strong, wielding a large segmented sword that can change shapes. WoL can class-change to Knight mode whilst Garland can shapeshift his weapons according to the Four Fiends

With II comes Firion with his opposition being the Emperor. Firion will be using multiple weapons ranging from swords to bows and staffs. The Emperor wields various black magic spells used to trap his enemies, setting them up for punishment. Emperor's EX-Mode transforms him into the Hell Emperor as seen at the end of the game

III presents us with Onion Knight opposing the Cloud of Darkness. The Onion Knight excels at both swordsmanship and magic while Cloud of Darkness utilizes magic attacks that can throw an opponent off balance. Onion Knight's EX-Mode allows him to class change to either a Ninja or Sage whilst CoD's transforms her into her original green-skinned form and allow her to interrupt stronger attacks

IV gives us Cecil Harvey fighting Golbez. Cecil can alternate between Dark Knight and Paladin forms, giving him quite a balance between power and agility while Golbez boasts great defense and magic.. His EX-Mode allows him to summon the Shadow Dragon for battle

With V we have Bartz Klauser against Exdeath. Bartz takes after the Mime class, allowing him to use weapons wielded by the other heroes and thus, mimic their fighting styles. Not much is known about ExDeath's fighting style though he can assume his tree form in EX-Mode

Recently, VI unveiled Terra Branford opposing Kefka Palazzo. Neither is known about their fighting styles though Terra will be able to assume her Esper form in EX-Mode

Then we have lucky number VII giving us Cloud Strife and Sephiroth. Despite their popularity, nothing is known of how they will do battle yet

Good ol' VIII presents Squall Leonheart fighting Ultimecia. Squall will be the combomeister, utilizing the legendary Gunblade with his EX-Mode based on his Limit Break, Renzokuken. Ultimecia utilizes magic projectiles, conjuring up magic swords and axes to attack. Her EX-Mode grants her a variation of the Griever hybrid form she takes to combat the heroes in the final battle of the game

IX Has Zidane Tribal against Kuja. Zidane is a master at aerial combat, as that comes to no surprise. His EX-Mode unsurprisingly gives him his Trance form, giving him access to his Dyne techniques. Kuja on the other hand, is different. He fights exclusively with magic only, preferring to fight at a distance. His EX-Mode also gives him his Trance form

Finally we come to X with Tidus opposing his father Jecht. Tidus is a hit-and-run fighter, able to counter enemy attacks with ease while Jecht is an 'ultimate infighter'. Tidus' EX-Mode gives him his Celestial Weapon, Caladbog and automatically casts Hastega on himself, increasing his speed further. Jecht's EX-Mode will transform him into his Final Aeon form.

So yeeaaaah. It will be released in Japan on December 18, the same day the first FF game was released. It'll also be available for download as well through the Japanese Playstation Network store
