okay so i've decided to make a new thread from something i've discovered. i was going through some dmc pics and in two of these pics i noticed something. there are red and black colored flags in the background. hmmmm....in my opinion it doesn't really fit the setting, i would expect flags in more of a castle/old medieval type setting. so what could these flags mean? i believe the flags perhaps represent the demons' dominance over this world, but i would like some other theories or speculations on these flags, and if anyone has found something hidden in any of their dmc pics go ahead and post them in this thread :]

Hmm, I didn't pay any attention to the flags, but then again, seeing how a lot of stuff seems to hang in the air from church pews to rocks and structural materials, the environment is able to change shapes as it wishes; dismantle and then put back together or simply render into a new form of existence. Like, at some point I saw that a roof of a building had more holes than roofing, but since the town don't seem to be decayed otherwise, the uncomplite buildings might be a product of changing around or something like that.
At some point, in the location with the mask-shaped frountain, there were red and blue doors similar to those that have been seen in the previous DMC games, even if many gateways in DmC have been made different looking.
And there's been talk about it how the enemies in DmC seem more mechanical -- some of them seem to be nothing more than robots, as when defeated, they seem to break into machine parts.

By the way, after I watched some trailer, I was left with the impression that when Dante hopped around with black hair, he used primely his left hand when working with one hand, but when he triggered into the white haired form, he held the sword in his right hand. Do I remember correctly, I wonder?

Edit: chocolateghost79, you said there's two flags in the second picture, but it's actually one flag that seems to have some sort of crest in the middle.
 
well i think the flags have nothing to do with the demon world as seen in the trailers and stage demos everything thats in the real world is also in limbo but the difference is that in limbo buildings change or get destroyed while the parts are floating in the air that has nothing to do with the flags they were in the real world so they were in limbo aswell just like the graffiti in the second pic
love the graphics :)
 
oh thank you for pointing that out to me kammosjuttu, i see it is just one flag in the second picture, you might be right demonslayerR it might just be part of the background. however, since these flags are in the human world too, maybe they represent something about the city.
 
I don't know should it be called a flag, but in the church there was a long, blue fabric with lion (or dragon? Blurred pictures are a pain to look at xD) designs on it on the wall. The "lions" looked like the Finnish Lion logo or something, haha.

I'd love to, but I have the picture on my computer and it seems I would have to insert URL instead of leafing through my files... I don't have any account to sites that can host pictures.
But! If I remember correctly, that screen shot was taken from an 2011 E3 trailer.

you should try what i do when you are typing in a reply, there is a button below the text box that says upload a file, this button will let you search your computer for the pictures, which you will be able to insert on your text box

*smacks forehead against a desk* Ugh, stupid me...! Thank you for pointing that out. I shall do just that, here goes;
 
haha don't feel bad im just glad i could help :) and i see the blue flag thing in the background, hmmm....so maybe these flags are just for decoration
 
No worries, I don't feel bad. I just started out here, so I am happy that I am being helped out with the basics.
Yes, the flags are most likely just for decoration, but all the same, decorations do tell something about it what kind of world the people live in. Maybe they are somewhat irrelevant when looking at the big picture, but then again it is the details that make up the whole.

well glad i could help you out :] and since these flags are more than likely just for decoration my new theory is maybe the city has some sort of cult/army/organization much like DMC4 had the order of the sword, but just another theory not saying i want another organization like the order of the sword just speculation

MAYBE THE WHOLE CITY ISNT EVEN REAL IT MAY BE CREATED JUST TO MONITER DANTE
 
oh man! this thread is getting interesting, that's a great theory. perhaps she is a demon that has been exiled from limbo by her master, and to get her master's trust back she is leading dante deeper into limbo for some purpose. much like jester's role in dmc3
