Devil May Cry (bringing a live action film to life)

I'll take the jar, thanks. :D

--------------------------------------------

Edit:

@Jak

Actually, I've decided to keep the name "Devils Will Cry" but change the names of the characters themselves.

... I know, it's beyond controversial, but this way, it's a "new IP" while still being "faithful to the series".

Besides, it's sort of a "thinly-veiled" fanfiction anyway, so in the end, there's no harm done.

Well, I still think David de Lautrour would make a perfectly good candidate.

You don't necessarily have to look like Vergil in order to be him. Makeup (or even rotoscoping over the whole film like in "A Scanner Darkly") can fix that.
Nope you dont have to look the part, but I mean, C'MON, it's Vergil, GIVE US FANGIRL JUSTICE.
Why yes, I am totally superficial :3
But what if they mix together the classic and the DmC? Cause all THIS... is about Devil May Cry!

Anyways, which of the bad celebs do you think can be suited for Lilith? Cause I don't like DmC's look on Lilith.
Charlise Theron please. She's a total biatch and would do this role without much needed acting.
Yes I do despise that woman. She's like Lilith irl. Really. If you haven't met her, you wouldn't know, but crikey she's a naaaaasty piece of work.

DmC live action movie

Dante: Robert Pattinson
Kat: Kristen Stewart
Vergil: Jackson Rathbone
Lilith: unknown actress
Mundus: unknown actor
Phineas: unknown actor
Eva: unknown actress

i see what you did there

Brad Dourif is suited to play Mundus, after all he's played every villain in the entertainment industry.

He doesn't need to muscular and fat and shave his head. He looks perfect for the role.

And if they changed Mundus' DmC personality, he'd play that same personality as the doll he played.

as the screenwriter for the project, Alex Garland is the main choice given his success as a screenwriter/producer, his love of gaming, his already existing connection to NT so his inclusion would be a win/win.

as for the director I was thinking Matthew Vaughn of Kick-ass and X-men First Class fame

I was thinking of changing the location from a vague North American city to the good ol UK (maybe London) to make it standout from the rest and because class mobility was a bigger issue in the UK in the 50s/60s/70s etc. Plus I'm a fan of british scifi and shows

DMC3 is speculated to take place in the late 70's/early 80's

As long as Zack Snyder directs and we have a team of japanese producers (like Hideo effin Kojima), I'm fine with any casting.

Really. It's Devil May Cry. We don't even need a good plot, just good overall pacing for the movie and a strong sense of style in all action scenes.

Well for the classics I would use the hellboy method as I would adapt parts of the franchise and just create new stories for the big screen.

That is necessary for video-game adaptations since most of the games cutscenes are on YouTube so you have to give fans incentive to spend money/go to the theater for this adaptations. The ideal solution would be just to create a new story that has film in mind and that is set between the gray area of the games etc (like the years betwen DMC3 and 1) and you could slant it towards an aspect of the lore DMC fans are interested like what happened a year before DMC3 and so forth
