Would it be possible then for the devil bringer to spread to the rest of the body and turn Nero into a demon (or something that looks demonic)

This is how Nero will look like when he'll reach his full Devil Trigger form.

@Trish -

No.

But by Devil May Cry 5, he'll probably have that form.

@VB -

I'm afraid Nero is probably a full demon. I don't know how could that be possible, but I'm strongly speculating that the fact he is a POSSIBLE son of Sparda, and not being a third twin... just probably, he's Sparda's true heir.

its possilable yes...but I doubt it...I'm still going with my theory...'Nero is the subject of expirementation by the order of the sword. He is a human with a demonic arm, that allows him some abilities that a demon/human hyrid such as Dante and Vergil would have...'

i think it sounds about right that it will fully spread, like i said about him having a butterfly transformation kinda....but i think it came naturally, i don't think it came from the wound in his shoulder...

The wound made the transformation of his arm at a faster rate. It would have taken a lot longer If It would be at a natural way. The wound was the catalyst.

It is also to note that the true full form of Nero is unknown. The only known form is that under Yamato. Nero's transformation will rely on Devil Arms before sprouting his natural demon self.

That's why Kobayashi at the interview links posted by Zato-OW at the 3,1,2,4-thread, compared Nero with DMC3 Dante - in all terms - age and Devi Trigger abilities likewise.

That theory cannot be true simply because of two reasons.

1 - Agnus would have known It, as he was the Chief Researcher for the Order.

2 - At Mission 6, when Nero gains the Devil Trigger abilities, Agnus is surprised to see Nero has demonic power. Since he created Angelos, by trapping human and demon souls inside empty shells, Nero having demonic power wouldn't have surprised him at all, If Nero would have been subject of experimentation from the Order. Even Sanctus is trembled to hear that from Agnus in the meeting after.

Glad to see you've changed your tone. Talking down to people is no way to carry on a discussion, no matter how right you think you are.

Profile Messages exist for such things.

And yes, Nero was no experiment.

Glad you agree.

i believe that it might have been a catalyst, but that's not to say the transformation didn't start before...or that it would'nt have started a month or so later...it may have something to do with genetics in a sense that the transformation begins at a certain age, since we're sayin he's the same age Dante was when he was awakened

as for the experiment, it's plausible because maybe the delayed result made Agnus think he was a failed experiment

The transformation never started before. Nero clearly says that 'From that day forth, my arm changed...' - meaning that his arm changed from that wound he suffered that day when he and Kyrie were attacked - which makes that the catalyst to the creation of the Devil Bringer.

Agnus was never interested about Nero.

He was interested in finding someone with Sparda's blood. Dante was the one under Agnus' observation and attention - being the only one alive carrying Sparda's blood.

Sanctus clearly tells that to Dante himself after getting Nero inside the Savior as means to activate It.

Agnus and the Order took interest at Nero after his confrontation with Agnus, where he united the Yamato sword and Devil Triggered for the first time in his life.

Nero was never a failed test subject nor was intended to be put under experimentation.

Sanctus knew Nero had Sparda's blood though...he only originally wanted Dante because he knew for a fact he was a son and powerful...he only knew that Nero was a descendant....as for the phrase of the da forth, Nero doesn't say that til he got yamato...which doesn't make sense if he's talking about an attack the happened before the game...unless the attack happened the exact day that Dante killed Sanctus at the mass

Sanctus knew nothing about Nero's origins.

When he got the information from Agnus that Nero had demonic power, Sanctus came to the conclusion that from his similar appearance to Sparda, he would carry his blood.

Sanctus: "Held back by love. Such a shame. Still, I must salute a man who carries the blood of Sparda. While not in Dante’s league you still presented a harder fight than I had anticipated." Nero: "Dante…?" Sanctus: "I had originally intended to absorb him into our Savior, but circumstance presenting I’d rather choose the option at hand. When your blood and this sword are combined, we will be able to proceed to the final stage of our ultimate goal!"

Sanctus does not determine whether Nero is a descendant or a son of Sparda. He just identifies Nero as a carrier of Sparda's blood.

Of course Nero is not in Dante's league. Nero's powers are equal to that of Dante in DMC3.

Still that doesn't identify him as just a descendant.

There you're contradicting yourself.

The attack happened before the game - that's why he refers to that phrase 'From that day forth...'

I'm very thoroughly confused.
The part they put in the guide about Nero being in a fight and getting hurt, along with his female companion (Kyrie) who received minor injuries - doesn't that basically depict what happened in the beginning of the game? You know, Kyrie being a dummy and getting run over by a falling knight, and Dante slashing Rebellion into Nero's arm? (any answers to clear this up will be appreciated, since it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out)

I agree with GGC about the 'from that day forth' saying - because Nero's arm did suddenly transform into a demon one when Dante crashed the party. That's when his arm changed. I really like the idea of Vergil's spirit hanging around Dante, and having an influence on Nero (since he's the one who heard him saying 'more power'), which could make it plausible that when Nero 'died', Vergil was present in the room (because Yamato was there) and saw the chance to somehow manifest himself and went 'aha, foolish boy, now you're mine!' This is just a theory of mine. I like trying to make sense of the somewhat senseless, ahem, capcom.

By the way you guys, Nero being an experiment was just speculation from a fellow fan. It most likely won't fall in line with the story in DMC4. I just really like the idea, because I'd prefer Nero being a human gini-pig than an actual descendent of Sparda - because really, he gives Devil may 'cry' a whole new meaning, and not a flattering one.

The guide explains that before the actual events of Devil May Cry 4 happened, Kyrie and Nero were attacked by Assaults. That's where Nero got the infamous wound which devoured his arm giving birth as to what we know now as the Devil Bringer.

Nero's arm began to change before Dante actually stingered Nero's arm. Kobayashi himself confirmed Nero was hiding his arm as wounded because the wound was spreading fast and had consumed his entire right arm.

Yamato is a Devil Arm. It possesses its own soul. Because Vergil had a spiritual bond with the sword, It derived traits of his memories and personality.

personally i like the idea of the descendant...preferrably a son of sparda....after all sparda was a powerful demon he had to be pimpin...lol...or..if a descendant, then a descendant of a woman that sparda was with long before eva was born...since sparda was thousands of years old....but...as i was sayin, sparda, it doesn't contradict....i'm sayin that the transformation coulda happened at any time without the catalyst of the attack and there's no way to tell that the attack caused it....Nero said the "from that day forth" line when he got yamato...so it has to do with yamato, not the fact that his arm looks all demonlike...he had the DB before then....and sparda...u dnt know it has to do with the personality...it could really have been his spirit
