Depressing scenery

The area looks rather abandoned, like the residents gave up hope on the city a long time ago. Some what of a ghetto with the graffiti.

Quite the scene if you ask me. I remember how depressed I was over HL2 when I saw how miserable the humans looked due to the Combine taking over, like they didn't even care anymore, they knew they were enslaved, and they just learned to live with it.

Perhaps this is a story element, to help make the player want to defeat the demons even more?

I think it looks like Arkham City in this trailer. And the green moon gives off a demonic over tone. There are plenty of lights lit up in the houses and theres some cars and trains throughout which makes it seem less abandoned.
This city looks quite different from the newer trailers. And i wonder if the beginning of this trailer is supposed to be malice or the actual "illusion" that humans live in.

I have a similar coat, It was a gift from my brother, the bad part? Its from Abercrombie and Fitch, a company I really find to be annoying

You know, I just noticed something about the guns, they are supposedly of high caliber, but if that is the case. Then new Dante defies gun physics, he doesn't take recoil into account and makes what appears to be a .44 magnum cartridge to be semi automatic. Conclusion: new Dante can defy physics

I actually also must admit, this place does have a heck of a lot of graffiti, you'd think demons could take better dominance over a city. especially one that they have practically pillaged and taken over

Well demons have always had a affinity for some kind of chaos and/or distress so it could fall as an indirect action by them
