Demon Mode vs Angel Mode: Is it imbalanced? (Boss Spoilers)

Now, I've been watching several videos about DmC's gameplay as well as seeing what weapons people use while fighting enemies and whatnot. And so far, I personally believe that Angel/Demon stances are kinda imbalanced. Now I don't mean that both sides are completely broken but I do believe one stance is more useful than another stance. Although I'm still kinda uncertain at this point.

I personally believe that the Angel stance is a bit more useful in certain areas than the Demon stance. But not in all areas. Mainly because you can use Angel mode for strictly crowd control as well as singling out enemies as well. With Aquila, you can keep enemies in place by using Round Trip since the attack is almost instant, from what I've seen. And while using Osiris as a main weapon for Angel mode you could deal more damage over time since it progressively gets stronger as you are continuously attack.

. . . Then again, I've seen some pretty silly things with Demon mode as well . . .

Speaking of Demon mode, the only "useful" things I've seen about it were Demon Pull, Demon Dodging, and Arbiter. I don't see anything useful about Eryx though other than using charged attacks, which can leave you open. Then there's Devil Trigger but it doesn't really counts as a Demon stance.

Feel free to discuss your own opinions as well.

well playing around with the eryx. it has crowd control and its decently powerfull plus if you need power, speed and you dont want to move around too much the eryx will do ya good plus the eryx is amazing for getting enviornmental kills with flying enemies. (would say more on the subject but to enraptured with the game)

p.s. demon dodge isn't as broken as people said it would be

While it's going to take some real testing. I kinda agree with Chaser. Osiris isn't too bad a weapon. In a group you rack up points damn quick, and with Feed upgrade powered up fully it can actually do damage worth a damn (granted I'm currently still going through nephilim mode.) That and Aquila's Buy In gets those asses in seats so you can deliver that Osiris damage to everyone. Aquila seems to be good for stunlocking and gathering enemies.... that might be all.

Osiris seems nearly useless against bosses though since you need to attack constantly to keep it full charged. Eryx has it's uses I guess.... it's the "if you don't want to put up with taking 3 days per attack" heavy damage alternative. Mad disappointed in it though; doesn't look like any of it's moves have a Just Charge to it. The f--k is this s---.

...The first video kinda proves that Demon Dodge is fairly broken. . . .

the demon branch's main weakness is its speed. you can god help you if you want to use it in a split second reflex scenario.
but while it isnt as useful as angel mode on its own. i think it combines much better with normal and angel than angel mode does. ie if you alternate between rebellion and Eryx in battle you can take out a lot of enemies while adding annihilating power to your attacks. while if you try the same with angel mode. your just substituting power for range.

Welp, they didn't nerf demon dodge. That's practically asking for balance issues. ESPECIALLY when the style meter leans heavily toward rewarding you for demon attacks :/

not playing the full game and just basing this theories on watching gameplay alone does not do well for credibility, like how you think eryx isn't useful

In my opinion, it's not that useful other than singling out opponents. During missions, enemies will progressively show up in more crowds, causing you to use more moves that is good for crowd control. Unless you spend your time in the air. You can use it to interrupt certain enemy attacks as well. (Like off-balancing the Brute.)

It does help to play the game, sure. But it's not necessary since this is visual data. And I don't see how I can't form theories just because of this. Isn't that the point of a theory? Otherwise it would be a complete fact.

Demon weapons and DT is overpowered for sure

I agree with that. D.T. + Demon Dodge pretty overpowered.

at least in nephilim battles switch off between 1-3 really powerfull colored enemies and a LOT of weak neutral enemies. im just saying that eryx is amazing for the tougher enemies in my experience

Hmm. I think I saw a few streams where people used Eryx for bigger enemies. So I can see why people would say that it would be a useful weapon.

Well, Eryx is faster than Arbiter (at least that's how it feels for me) and does less damage (unless you charge it), while Osiris is like a "crowd control" version of the Rebellion, while Aquila is an extremely long range ninja star - thing. Both sides are supposed to have pros and cons, which is why Angel is OP in some areas, and Demon is OP in others. The demon dodge, I would say is the only thing that would probably need a nerf, but that's about it for me

Nerf Demon Dodge and Overdrive.

Something tells me I should skip on upgrading Demon Dodge once I get the game...

Past dmc games have always had at least one broken move so you could say it's tradition. DMC1 has the grenade launcher spam trick. DMC3 has the taunt and DT flux trick. DMC4 has the real impact distortion.
