Definition of a "Real" Devil May Cry game

Capcom can easily turn DMC into a beat em, shooter, racer, anything......would it still be Devil May Cry.
Its like all those freaking Mario spin-offs and games (Mario Party, Go-Cart, and yada yada) what makes a real Mario game.....same goes for Sonic and MegaMan since those series has a habit of copying Mario.

I'm just some guy who really like Devil May Cry
no such thing as a real DMC game same way there is no such thing as a REAL football game. the game is a game. its called devil may cry so its a real devil may cry. there are fans who dont see 3 and 4 as real games as they have lost the survival horror aspect they used to have. its all about equal opinion. no one is wrong and everyone is right.
