More to come when I get some more info. Props to Devils-Lair for the find. Btw this will shock some of you. Nero was named Nero because he was wrapped in a black blanket when he was found... ALSO The DB IS NERO! Not Vergil. The DT is also Nero's soul hanging out of his body. I knew it!!!! Damn I keep editing. So Vergil's TRUE goal was to surpass Sparda's power. So I also was right when I stated he wanted to rule over the human world and the devil world. Another edit, the novel claims that Dante ages like a human even though he is half demon. This novel is weird btw, you would think Nero is the son of Vergil but it almost seems like they are talking about Sparda when they mention Nero "inheriting" the soul of the protector of humankind. Lastly I will like to add that Nero was not named after Nel(r)o Angelo, he was named after Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus according to Capcom. Whether Nero is the son of Vergil is still unknown sadly. Due to Nero's arm changing the way it is and Dante admitting that Nero IS stronger then him leads me to believe that Nero is somewhat closer to Sparda then Dante or Vergil.

Knew most of this stuff, but great find nonetheless.

Have to disagree on your statement. Dante thinks Nero's brute strength is superior to his, and not that Nero is stronger than Dante.

Nero is Sparda's son, undoubtedly.

The novel really didn't explain a lot to me. Was hoping they'd clear Nero's origins a bit more. The thing is, Capcom released the novels to skip making a game about Nero-only.

I guess Devil May Cry 5 will have surprises, at least.

I see what your saying. But what I got from his statement is that Nero is just more powerful then Dante in strength. I'm not saying he can defeat Dante, because we all seen that Dante is just too fast and skilled for him. But when it comes to just straight forward power, he could probably match or beat Dante's power. In no way can he defeat Dante though in a battle.

I could easily tell Nero had a massive killer brute strength when he crushed the False Savior's face into dust.

But yeah, Dante has much more than just strength to take on Nero anytime.

I always thought Nero'd turn out to be Dante and Vergil's little brother...he's a mix of both of them.

i doubt that nero could ever defeat dante one on one even in strength dante just too wicked to take down also....i still wonder how a manmade sword like red queen stands up to rebellion in a battle
