We might just be getting another DMC comic! It's been years since the comic based on the first game, the novels that had taken place before 1 and then 2. Oh yeah... the manga that took place before DMC3 that NEVER finished. I was mad because of that. Anyway. I found out that DC comics are to produce Resident Evil and Devil May Cry comics.

From IGN.COM:
"US, July 28, 2008 - Comic-Con might be over, but the announcements are still coming fast and furious. With the convention focus on the DC Universe, today DC Comics announced two major license acquisitions - Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.

Creative details and launch dates are still forthcoming. DC's Wildstorm imprint will host both series when they debut.

"Comics are a critical component in Capcom's merchandising strategy for our most cherished franchises, as they target the same discerning, loyal fans that care most about these established brands," said Germaine Gioia, Senior VP of Licensing for Capcom. "DC's undisputed development and distribution strength within the comic industry make them an ideal partner to further expand two of our most successful and sophisticated gaming properties."

The Devil May Cry franchise just saw its latest blockbuster installment hit stores earlier this year. Meanwhile hype for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 is reaching new heights. Set for release next March, players will once again take control of Chris Redfield as he's joined by newcomer Sheva Alomar. The series will once again move online as it features a co-op mode for both its Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 iterations.

"We're ecstatic that Resident Evil is returning to WildStorm, where we have already established deep roots into the mythos of this world," said Hank Kanalz, VP and GM for WildStorm. "We can't wait to continue, and bring a freshness and excitement to the property to match the amazing things they are doing with the game."

IGN will bring you the latest information on DC's two new acquisitions as well as the latest on their videogame counterparts. Be sure to check out all of our San Diego Comic-Con news and videos by visiting our event index."
