dante n vergil's style

absolitude

the devil is not as black as he painted
gotta say, after getting used to vergil's gameplay, dante's movement felt kinda slow, more fluid but slower..

i think it's great of NT to distinct them both significantly, vergil the classy and swift one and dante the brawler and stylish --actually i dont know how to describe it, it's just cooler and more coreographed.. --forget it, couldn't describe the exact words..

anybody care to help me distinct both of their combat styles?

and if they both meet, vergil after VD and dante after DmC, how would it go?

ignore me if there's already a post about this

I really love how their so diffrent . When youv had enough of stylishly destroying everything with brute force and attitude with dante. its nice to mix things up with vergils prescise, calculated speedy style. I dont know . He seems preety powerful and dangerous by the end of DmC.. DmC 2 needs joint campaign so we can see how they both progress

yes, vergil was very precise and calculated, it's like he knows what he's doing while Dante was more spontaneous..

and by joint campaign do you mean both on the same scene or we play both of their mission that eventually crosses path?

I really liked that about Dante and Vergil's fighting styles.

Dante puts his all into his sword swings and stumbles when he puts too much in. He's reckless and forceful but also graceful enough when he does "death coil" and trillion stab.
Vergil on the other hand is more temperate and precise yet still forceful enough to go out. He's more swift while also stylish in his own right. And the sheathing animations are proof of that.

One of the most distinctive difference is in the charging attacks.

For example, Dante's charging attacks are slow but you can keep it charged to be released at a more opportune moment.

Vergil's charging is different, where to get the most powerful version of the move, you have to release the attack somewhere before the attack "fully" charges. If you try to do it Dante style, where you keep the button held down until you feel like attacking later, you will never unleash the move's full power.

Just shows how Vergil really leans towards "precision" than Dante.

Who do we think is the best to play as . . Say for instance its life or death situation where you must complete the hardest ever difficulty on bloody palace. Who would you put your faith in to beat it .

Well, Dante cause he has more moves, hence more adaptability to situations.

It's really sad that Vergil has never gotten a move list as rich as Dante in Devil May Cry games. This makes him (Dante) always the preferable choice, whether you look for having fun, or having more chances to win fights, imo.

The latest Devil May Cry actually gave him a pretty well rounded move set unlike his first go round. He may not have the same number of weaponry Dante has, but he makes up for it in sheer variety of the many different techniques he has Dante can simply never do.

Yes, I know he has his unique moves, I'm talking about his actual amount. In both DmC and DMC3, Dante's got more moves, combos, weapons, everything. I'm still waiting for a playable Vergil that has the same amount of stuff Dante has.
I'm hoping DMC4 SE will have that, though I'm holding my ass tight.

death coil is that spinning slash right? that one is beautiful, love that move the most. and graceful is the right word for it, he's reckless, sloppy, and on some moves it's like dancing..

hohoho.. this one, this one charging move is exactly what distinct them, precision.. didn't cross my mind, nice, that being said dante is also being efficient with his moves..

....that's hard.. i dont know about the rest of you, but vergil is somehow easier for me to JC'ing.. and dodging is easier with him since his moves are like teleporting.. but at the same time, i got clueless with the combos and just went button mashing.. hard choice.. but i wanna see how others would..

hmm.. this is kind of true, dante will always be the preferable choices, easier to control -DmC wise-, and more about the having fun factor.. but still, not swift enough for a life and death situation

everytime i see combo videos, yes, vergil seemed to have more variety of movements than dante, maybe just an illusion because he's fast, but then again the sword illusion itself has many varieties.. or maybe most of us -me- are more acquinted n used to with Dante's moveset..
