Dante's been alive longer. Vergil died and was reborn a couple of times.

Honestly, Dante did get done dirty. His capture model might be ridiculously handsome but the final product looks like a homeless old man. The fact that people can make a comparison between him and Clancy Brown in Detroit, whose SUPPOSED to be a deadbeat alcoholic, is a sad fact.
If I had to wager a guess is say it was Ninja Theory's influence. Their'realistic' approach to their game probably left Itsuno with the urge to follow up with that philosophy.

Clean dante at the beginning of the game looks fine, scruffy dante looks a lot older though

They should have used a better face model i think
