Capcom E3 Live Stream: DMC Devil May Cry Producer Interview

I've got to say, I got pretty annoyed with this interview. I like how they want to keep it a secret and all that, but when it comes to interviews we don't learn anything we didn't already now (or what we saw from the trailer).

They do so because they will not accept the changes been made. They want the same old that they are comfortable with and know from the past games, and because they aren't getting that, they are disappointed and feel the need to bash it.

'Smack Talk'? I wasn't doing anything like that. I've accepted this game compared to other people, this game is happening whether anyone likes it or not. Perhaps you wanna read my other posts in other threads before you quote what I've said. I thought the E3 trailer was great. NT just aren't a great developer as Capcom.

So this is a DMC3 retcon. Wow I don't really know how to feel about that tbh.

Wooo calm down im new here. Ive never used this forums before. i clicked reply. im not talking about u. btw just because im new here doesnt mean i dont no any thing about devil may cry. I wrote 2 short stories that im tring to get published.

Well at 7:48 he does say it's "retelling Dante's story from the start" as opposed to "going back to the very beginning of Dante's story" what I got from that was pretty much making a fresh start with Dante and the DMC story.
Whether thats going to just be starting again with the same thing where Tony Redgrave becomes Dante with a more simplified and liniar story (like realising how much of a mess plot wise they have got themselves into and trying the same story again from scratch) or it's doing what Tomb Raider Legend did and overwriting the whole thing for a new timeline. Either way I don't think 1, 2, 3 or 4 are part of this timeline.

IMO I would feel more relaxed knowing it's not trying to contradict or become a part of what we have known and treat it a bit more like Bayonetta and judge it like a stand alone game.

Oh I think I misunderstood you.

I thought you meant that this game was basically going to take the place of DMC3 in the established storyline not that it is going to basically be the beginning tale of of its own series similar to DMC3.

However I have also heard fans say that this game will indeed be a part of the established canon and that it will be set BEFORE DMC3.

At this point we will just have to wait and see I suppose.

look, new dude, no offense to you but I feel that they are making some bad decisions when it comes to pr etc because its still a year in and i cant actually give someone a synopsis of this game because i dont know what the actual story is other than the broad strokes they gave us.

I only speak for myself when I say that even if this wasn't a DMC game I'd still think it looks stupid. Now of course there's plenty of time for it to show me something great, so I'm withholding judgment until then. ^^
