What he means is that there isn't a trailer that shows characters story or gameplay. Everything we've seen are just gameplay demo footage to music.
Lets face it. Capcom and Ninja Theory have spend all of their promotio material trying to convince people that this game will deliver rather than showing what the game is about. Every interview, every trailer, every article, and even the majorety of the news releases have been an effort to convince the fans of how much the fans don't need to worry.

well capcom/ninja theory if you guys are reading this post right now, i have one message for you: don't talk about how good the game is, SHOW us! after captivate i want to be blown away by what i have seen from DmC. It's time to bring out your big guns and show us what this game really has to offer. i have faith in you capcom and ninja theory
