Can Dante transform it without weapons?

Urizen breaks rebellion Dante loses DT In the end Dante is weaker than Nero and Vergil? They do not need a weapon to switch to DT

-> Dante SDT have Limited time compared to Vergil.
-> He can not speak in this form compared to Vergil.
-> Dante does not know how to fight without weapons unlike Nero.
-> DSD and Rebellion have crappy abilities unlike Yamato.
-> Nero destroys Dante with a slap , so against Vergil there was a fight.

Nero > Vergil >> Sparda >>>>> Dante ?

The only one who never used a weapon to switch to DT is Nero, Vergil always has Yamato, but it's safe to say that both Vergil and Dante can do the same if they need to.

-> Dante SDT have Limited time compared to Vergil.
Vergils also seems to be limited, just like Normal DT.

-> He can not speak in this form compared to Vergil.
He spoke in Normal DT, so it's safe to assume that he can do so in SDT.

Dante knows how to use Ifrit, Beowulf, Gilgamesh and Balrog as well as having Non-Armed moves in DMC3, so yeah, he knows his way around a fist fight.

-> DSD and Rebellion have crappy abilities unlike Yamato.
That's just a matter of opinion. Dante's Summon Swords are a bit more versatile gameplaywise.

-> Nero destroys Dante with a slap , so against Vergil there was a fight.
That one doesn't really count, since the twins were fighting while going all out and by the end of it both slap Nero away with their backhand the same way he did to Dante.

I think dante can use dt even whitout rebellion but there are some hints in the dmc games that say otherwise and it happears that dante and vergil need Yamato and rebellion to access their respective demon form, it's like Yamato and rebellion are part of them... However they can use other weapon to access other demon dt like dante did whit alastonr, ifrit and sparda

- Vergil sdt had limited time too, also that is purely a gameplay aspect you could not have expected to have an unlimited sin dt during gameplay

- dante can speak during sin dt, he speak in sin dt while fighting urizen, also during vergil battle

- dante can fight even whitout weapon like he did in the anime, simply he like to use weapon

- devil sword dante is very powerful, I use it very often during gameplay and that summoned sword can change gameplay completely, also rebellion was a very powerful sword, so powerful that not even Nero red queen can Stand a change against it, Infact nero had to use Yamato against dante or devil bringer in their second fight (you can use red queen in gameplay for obvious reason even if Nero only use the Yamato in cutscene while fighting dante) ... Probably the only weapon that can stop rebellion is the Yamato itself or powerful opponent like mundus and urizen... Also rebellion had the ability to absorbe and combine power, a very powerful technique that was essential for dante victory over urizen in dmc 5

- dante was tyrend and weak because he battled vergil almost to death, Nero entered in the middle of a battle and slap him, just like jester did in dmc 3 during dante and vergil fight, jester defeated both dante vergil and lady at once but this doesn't mean that jester is stronger, he only got lucky to take them when they were weakened...

Sparda >>>> dante and vergil >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> nero

-> Dante says the same things DT SDT and basic form against Urizen
-> Vergil does not need Yamato he had his DT without Yamoto in the manga
-> In DMC1 Dante does not have Rebellion he can not DT.
-> he is weak, he has not managed to defeat Mundus alone with the power of his father and the help of Trish lol.
-> Vergil does not have the SDT although it looks like the SDT but the Devil trigger so he has to have one more transformation
-> Nero have ultimate power is stronger than Sparda Dante Vergil

Nero > Vergil >> Sparda >>> Dante With the power of Sparda unleashed, there's no tellin' the strength Dante has at his disposal. Maybe more than Sparda himself. Nero and Vergil have more power than Sparda not Dante. Do not forget that without Rebellion and DSS Dante would not have the SDT that makes it very weak

So pretty much this thread is not really you asking a question but more you bashing Dante and saying he sucks and is weak?

The reason I came to this conclusion is apparently you already have the info you need.

Dante is the most powerful dmc character alongside vergil and sparda, and mundus, that's well established... it's also well established that rebellion and Yamato are extention of dante and vergil power and they both need them to use their full potential... Dante is not weak he is on pair whit vergil...

- dante can talk during sdt, vergil say the same things whitout sdt activated

- for what I know vergil acces dt the first time thanks to Yamato just like dante did whit rebellion, so they both need rebellion and Yamato to at least use their full potential

- mundus is very powerful he eat the qliphot fruit just like urizen did, so maybe his power were on pair whit that of urizen, that's why dmc 1dante needed all the help to defeat him

- the vergil transformation during mission 19 and 20 is sdt, you can see that in concept art, also you can see his normal dt in concept art, they originally want it to be put in game but they discharged it because it was useless to have both normal dt and sindt in boss gameplay

- nero is the weakest between dante vergil and sparda, he only entered in the battle when dante and vergil were weak, also vergil himself say that he wss holgind back during the fight whit Nero, Infact if you play mission 19 and 20 in succession you can clearly see that vergil is faster and stronger in mission 19 and use more combo in succession while in mission 20 he use less combo and sometimes he stand and walk without teleporting

I think this thread is pretty useless, you just want to put **** on dante whit no reason, like the guy before me say: you already have all the answers you need
So it's uselles to continue arguing

and if dmc3 takes place before dmc1 and he has devil trigger in dmc3 thats means he can activat it. the only reason he cant dt with force edge is because sparda made it were its true power can only be unleashed against mundase sorry for the bad spelling. the weapon seals power not unleashes it. and when you use sword peirce in dmc3 the sword is out of your hand and you can stil dt. dante has been unarmed and still pinned down nero. and if you play the game as vergil it clearly says in the game itself that his mode is called SIN DEVIL TRIGGER!!! "use sin devil trigger when you dont have enough time to use world of v to cut down your enimes be for the do the same to you." direct quote.
