Armored Core rp?

If I were to post up an Armored Core rp on this site, how many of you would join (better yet, how many of you even know what Armored Core is?)

I'm asking, because I don't want to start it up and then have no one join, and if you need a basic explanation of what it is, the basic gist of all of the games is playing as a Mercenary mecha pilot called a Raven (Or Lynx in the newest additions) who pilots a craft known as an Armored Core (AC for short, or NEXTs in the newest games)

Most of the missions in the games revolve around performing menial tasks for large corporations while revealing a simple, but sometimes deep story. Upon completing missions, pilots receive a proper amount of credits, thus allowing them to buy different parts to customize their ACs.

A list of all of part-types would be as follows:

*Heads
*Cores
*Arms (Normal Arms and Weapon Arms)
*Legs (Standard, Reverse Joint, Quad, Tank, Hover)
FCS (Aiming/Locking Mechanisms)
Generators
Radiators
Boosters (Main, Side, Back, Over)
Extensions/Shoulder Units (Retaliation Missiles, Radar Jammers, Extra Boosters etc)
Back Unit Left
Back Unit Right
Arm Unit Left
Arm Unit Right
Hangar Unit Left and Right (Storage units)
Stabilizers/Optional Parts

*Weight Classes: Heavy, Medium and Light

etc etc blah blah blah

You guys get the point. Lots of personalized mecha. Who would be interested?

Well, you know I would! I'd use my custom mech and pilot from my file. I named the pilot "Crow" and the mecha "Rain Storm". It specializes in fusilade fire, and it's designed to fire and fire with almost no breaks. It's also extremely lightly armored... To the point where a few missiles can do it in. That's why it's so fast. :D

I'm going to update this with a post just so it might catch someone else's eye. If you see this, and you wouldn't mind joining up, seriously, say it XD

Yes, offers are still open! We need more than two characters.

Now all you need to to is post your character profile here and tell us your character's alignment. (good, bad, neutral, etc.)

Good-o, I'll work on my character profile in a bit, I've had some experience with the AC universe, though it's been a while since I've picked up a copy of the game, I might need a little walk through on the specifics of the mechs.

You don't need to specify the specific parts of your mech. I didn't. :p

All you need is a character name, a mecha name, and it's load-out. (read: weapons)

No, but they have to be believable. You can't make an ubermech that has totally unbelievable power. Look at Rain Storm! It has two gatlings and two spray missile launchers, that's it. It's also so weakly armored that a shot in the right spot would obliterate it. That's why it's so fast. It kind of needs to be.

I can't remember either. Just leave it at one to play it safe. I don't think Rain Storm uses any extensions...

Okay, well I PM'd my character bio and mech set up to Blue Devil, just to see what he thinks, but I'll post it here too.

Hopefully it isn't largely OP, mine specialises in long range combat, but is also fairly competent in close quarters combat in the event that it actually does get caught up in that situation.

Profile:
Character name: Angelus/Angel.
Bio/Backstory: Angelus (or Angel to those close to him) is, at best, cold and unforgiving, at worst, he’s ruthless, merciless and looks down on others around him, he seems to dislike others generally, specifically those who are unable to defend themselves, he is socially inept, speaking very little, when he does speak, it is often threatening or insulting in nature.

He is highly confident in his fighting ability, self-assured and is more than willing to take on any challenge that comes his way; he often comes off as arrogant. Despite an apparent lack of social skills, he has a deep loyalty to the very select few that are close to him.

Mech: Anubis.
Anubis very much resembles its namesake, in terms of appearance; it takes on a tall and foreboding Jackal like appearance. It features reverse-jointed legs, six individual wings utilised to keep the mech hovering, as well as being able to divert much of its primary power to initiate a massive boost in speed, giving the appearance of teleportation.

The mech features a pearl black colour scheme with white and brown finishes, essentially reflecting light; however this is little more than a cosmetic feature, serving no real tactical purpose.

Anubis is equipped with a Vs. ECM head to counteract electronic interference, as well as a Hanger Unit core equipped with an Over Boost.

It is also equipped with standard arms and, as previously mentioned, reverse-joint legs.
Featuring a Sniper FCS, Anubis takes full advantage of the extremely long detection range by making use of a long range burst sniper rifle which is able to draw upon the main generator’s power supply to significantly enhance the power of each shot.

This feature is used primarily to take out hard, heavily armoured targets as such a technique often depletes Anubis’ generator far past its inbuilt Red Zone, leaving it extremely vulnerable to any nearby enemies.

However, Anubis is not entirely at the mercy of its Sniper FCS, it also makes use of a vibroblade style pole-arm which is extremely effectively at close range, able to rip through some of the toughest armour.

In order to make up for the slow lock time on missiles, Anubis is equipped with anti-missile system extensions. As a back unit, it’s equipped with Orbit Cannons in order to assist with defence at medium range.

At the end of the day, Anubis is a moderately armoured mech that is able to dish out an incredibly large amount of firepower at extremely long ranges, whilst also being fairly effective in close quarters combat, it does however suffer from its lack of a mid range weapon, meaning that in the event that an enemy gets too close for comfort, Angelus has to make use of either Anubis’ rifle at an uncomfortable range, decreasing overall accuracy, or move in to close range, suffering damage from extended fire before it is able to engage with its vibrospear, something its moderate armour can’t stand up to all too well.

Ah yes, alignment.

Neutral, my characters are rarely good or evil, they do what benefits them at the time.

Oh, lovely...

I don't suppose he'll hate Crow? Crow is one of those ****y punks who points a choice finger at authority, but will follow orders if necessary.

He'll probably feel "meh" about BD's character, Harper, because Harper is a "by-the-book" soldier.

Angelo Credo

Kept you waiting, huh?
Angelus doesn't make a habit of ordering people around, largely because he's more indifferent to them rather than being directly confrontational, so long as you give him no reason to dislike him, Crow and Angelus should get on as well as you could really expect.

Ah yes, one thing I forgot to mention, Angelus respects powerful people, give him an impressive show of power or basically tell him where to shove it and he's likely to show you some degree of respect.

So, if you do good or you beat him easily, he respects you. Makes sense.

My character probably won't be on his bad side TOO much, but his ****y persona may grind on his nerves.

Angelo Credo

Kept you waiting, huh?
Yeah pretty much, if you hand his ass to him in a square fight or you're generally stronger than he expected, then he'll respect you.

It's a likelihood, still, as I said, so long as you don't give Angel a reason to, he won't directly hate you, it'll probably be more of a case of indifference towards you, that is, no strong feelings either way.

Funny that he's such an ass yet his name suggests purity. What a jerk. I bet he respects White Glint, but in the story we're making, the AI-techno-organic Armored Cores killed him via ambush. What cowards...
