Not a bad idea.
Hmm, they could make their own look to make him seem more realistic and fitting in Devil May Cry's world. As long they don't make him fat and clumsy, like with Megaman in Street Fighter X Tekken. XD
I'm the guy who wanted to do a dmc tv show that had most capcom series crossed into one so im sure i could fit any series with a crossover.
That wa intentional as capcom was being sarcastic without realizing that it was insulting people.
On topic would people want these costumes to be DlC as well?
Do you want them to limit themselves to capcom characters?
Capcom has enough cool characters to guest star in eachother's games. They don't need characters outside from another company. Then again, it doesn't have to be Capcom only. There's also the Ninja Theory characters. Nariko, Monkey and Trip could also be guest characters.

I think they would look weird on new Dante but they could be redesign to fit him.
Plus thats something that we expect them to do.
I rather see them do someting unexpected.

If they make a DMC Dante coustume you do not have to use it. So how would it suck to make something avalible to the many people that want it without taking anything away from those that do not.

Personally I'd love to see a Zero Skin from Megaman, be it the version of him from MMX or MMZ. I'd be happy with either as long as I saw him.
Any of the original Dantes would be nice as well, like seeing a Pack of skins from the original series that included various other skins besides Dante like Vergil, Nero, or Sparta, that would be epic.
Deadpool is a character I would always like to see as a skin in a Devil May Cry game, which kinda made me sad that they never released ANY DLC for DMC4, that made me sad seeing how Deadpool would look great in Dante's place, his own fighting style even works.
And as for a completely random choice for a skin...Alex mercer from Protoype, just for the hell of it.
