anyone can help me on xbox360 res?

okay, so i was wondering if i use an AV/HD to VGA cable to attach the 360 to my BENQ 17" monitor which supports 1280x1024, will my 360 be able to put up games at that resolution, or do i have to keep it 1280x720?

If your monitor can display that resolution and the games can go to that resolution i dont see a problem. I dont really use monitors from consoles though so wouldnt know much about that. My TV is bigger than my monitor and HD so never tried it the other way around.
