The question is quite weird don't you think? It's like asking why Mundus has angel wings.

It's not a weird question, just not one that can be officially answered by us. It is something to kinda question since Dante and Vergil have batty wings and dragon scales.

I think they gave him insect wings just because insect features can feel very 'demonic' when they are human sized. Also, Sparda was more developed as a demon than Vergil/Dante so that would be why his DT is different.
