Alter Echo: The Basis of DmC?

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
I think you missed the whole 'Now adays' part. Black Lagoon is actually old by now. Infact the manga was inspiration for the original DMC. Name a show with this many frightning women from the last 3 years!

Oh...Nevermind.:p

HEY! HEY! Orihime is adorable!
That may be true sir but Orihime is the most annoying and useless characters in the ENTIRE manga. She plays no integral part aside from being captured in the Hueco Mundo arc and even then wastes minutes upon minutes reflecting on WHY everyone is there to save her and saying "Kurosaki-kun" incessantly....

the similarities between echo and DmC arent really that big...i mean you COULD say NT may have drawn inspiration from some things. but a lot of things eg ranking system, multiple styles etc were present in the old series. i find it hard to belive that any of the past DMCs were copies of anything. i mean i could argue inuyasha stole its idea of a plot from the millions of other classic demon/human (general unworldly being hybrid) hybrid stories that have been told through history. DMC1 was orginally a resident evil game but even then i couldnt tell until someone pointed it out to me.

Tell me I'm wrong. I dare you.
And similar to what berto said you missed my point. I meant recent manga even the more popular one's you have women being downplayed as annoying, oblivious, and prone to being kinapped/killed/useless. I am by no means a womanizer or "anti-woman" but the way their depicted is kinda....well retarded....

tbh i thought the mangaka (cant spell his name so wont try) intended her to be a bigger character than she is. but got so swept up with everything else that she and other characters just got neglected. like chad....all he does is loose his arms these days :(

hmm...not sure. i mean sure you get that stuff a lot because a lot of manga/anime is very echi and what not. but the better ones such as naruto and one piece are actually pretty respectful in their portrail of women (maybe not ALL the time but small steps).

exactly....now with the Qunicy Arc their going to out more emphasis on Ishida which is nice since he WAS Ichigo's main competition. But other than him Chad and Inoue are total dead weights....even WITH their power ups; Chad still can't land a decent punch and Inoue is still a nuisance.

tbh i thought it was gonna be a whole chad, orihime and ishida vs hollow ichigo after the soul soceity arc. and i had this huge theory how orhimes "fairy" powers would evolve to a sword that could cut anything, a sheild that could block anything and a mantle/cape that would heal anything....but no shes just a healer....a pretty weak one at that. as for chad i though he was gonna have his own hollow moment...but again no. shame i liked him.

EDIT: tbh i think the reason bleach is how it is right now is that he took on too many characters at once and ended up making it like an inferior version of dragon ball z :(

i know. ugh. Chad was a badass that was driven by his difference in appearance and pride now he, much like most characters, is like Ichigo's fail body guard

Fairy Tale
Its spelled Fairy Tail....don't worry I used to make the same mistake too.

However, I wouldn't use Fairy Tail as a good example. Sure the females are pretty strong & very useful & a good majority actually being stronger or just as strong as most males. FT problem is that its riddled with fan service. Before the girls actually do something badass they're normally beaten by an inch of their of life so their clothes can rip & tear exposing a lot of........skin or more boobage, are stripped in battle(I sh*t u not females have been stripped of their clothes in battle Like Kana had her bra removed by a drunk martial artist), they're commonly damaged in the most suggestive ways(see Erza vs Azuma(I think) jeez that was like watching tentacle porn), & FT's motto is "BOOBS EVERYWHERE! PANTYSHOTS? YOU'LL NEVER BE WITHOUT THEM!!! WANNA SEE PORN? FAIRYTAIL IS VERY CLOSE!!! FANSERVICE? BITCH PLEASE WE GOT PLENTY!!!!" Lets not forget the very suggestive content & implied sexual inuendos to when people tell me this is a kids show in Japan(THIS IS A F*CKIN KIDS SHOW!!!!) I go WHAT THE F*CK. There are times I felt I needed to masturbate when reading the manga/watching the show because I felt it would set the mood. I kinda stopped reading it after this girl who lost a match towards this other chick was asked to get butt naked(which she did), spit on by her master(a male to be exact), & kicked out of her guild. Plus FairyTail is sorta a bad manga(it has its cool moments but it commonly riddled with fanservice, ecchi that makes Rosario Vampire look like a kid show, a lot of bullsh*t, & writing on the same level of an average 1st grader writing(anime is okay since it tries to fix everything the manga did wrong & lessen on the fanservice a bit). Whenever someone says Fairy Tail is the best manga or anime ever.....................I think about committing suicide.

The term "vampire" is widely used in many different ways. In some versions, they are demons, in others they are just superhuman beings infected with some sort of virus that makes them drink human blood... and everything in between. I read Dracula a long time ago and the book does sort of hint that Dracula had some sort of relation with devils and such... so....

Anyway, that game reminds me of Kingdom Hearts, the ground combos look a lot alike. DmC may have a lot of similarities to this game, but they obviously took most of their ideas from, believe it or not, previous DMC games... The whole alive city and different dimensions and stuff was done for the purpose of explaining previous unexplained details in DMC (like the red string things) and to make the world more believable. I mean, in DMC3, a huge tower came out of the ground a killed everybody but the world gave zero ****s about the fact and nobody, except Dante and Lady, went ahead and tried to do something about it.

the last bit seemed more like a limitation on the hardware or not important overall to the story of dmc3 so it wasnt shown.
You could assume the army came in and tried to clear out civilians and kill demons.

i love the similarities between Inoue and Kiriye; two of the most annoying and useless people in their respective worlds

I actually have a fairly large reply in mind, but I need pictures for it, and I'm kind of feeling lazy at the moment. But, either way, I totally agree with your post. I'll just edit this one if I find the pictures.

Ok, here's a "preview". The tower from DMC3 totally stole from The Asylum in Shadowman. In fact, right before the Beowulf boss, there's a large steampunk platform track where you travel over lava. You do the same thing in Shadowman, only this time, you can actually walk around in the lava (it's hot coals, but you can swim in lava later on) with a Metroid upgrade. You can climb around in the various handholds and hidden doorways as well. In terms of level interactivity, I will say that Shadowman trumps DMC3 (but not in combat).

it wasn't until DMC4 were their actually people frolicking around, but only in cut scenes. I always wondered about that....
I'm glad DmC actually has people living in the homes, and partying at the clubs or walking down the street. It just makes more sense that way.

DMC1 was okay since u were on a uncharted island infested with demons. DMC2 was odd I mean u were in the big city yet no people to found anywhere. Then there was the village area were there was only Matier & Lucia(2 people)...so whats the point of all those houses & buildings.
DMC3 I always figured that the demons killed or easily cleared out the humans living in that vicinity....but I always wondered how the masses reacted to a giant tower spouting from the ground & unleashing demons. It made more sense if demons killed all of the humans but a few or couple managed to escape because when Dante left his shop the entire city was already a wreck before Temen-Ni-Gru came out.

I hope they actually flesh out the city and its people.

temen-ni gru could have had a huge impact on the world but its a shame they didnt do more with it.
