I very much like that idea, it extends the overall event, but keeps viewer attention with bite-size stylish vids, and we get to see entrants tackle different scenarios with their own unique style, leading up to that finale. Seem like a great way to do it.
How would voting be done? Likes on the video itself? Separate polls on C-U?
When it comes to the things like designating difficult and modifiers, you would definitely need to ensure that there is a way to visibly notice what modifiers they are. They all seem like they would be simple enough, luckily, but removing any room for mistake is definitely worth it for something like a contest.
EDIT: Hell, if you really wanted to get kitschy about it, you could refer to them as "Missions" themselves that the devil hunters (the entrants) are tasked with

- Son of Sparda difficulty
- Turbo mode ON
- Hardcore mode ON
