Dante (DMC) - Controversial new look

You remember Dante don't you? The demon slaying scoundrel with a serious penchant for peroxide? Yes, well he's dead. Died in a freak fairground accident dontcha know. Anyhoo, here's a ready-made replacement. Wadda ya mean, "it’s the same guy"? Ah yes, as it happens Capcom did perform a bit of a sly switcheroo with the character back in 2013. Out went the original Dante: (glam rock superstar edition) and in came Dante 2.0: the grimacing male model. Er, excellent…

"Dante is probably the single most stylish man on this list. His outfit is simple yet effective, with a classic white vest serving to draw our attention to the slight, acid washed details in his fashionable, slim-fitting jeans. As for those military-esque boots he's wearing--aside from the fact that they never seem to go out of fashion--they also help to tie the entire outfit together". Beth also reckons that Dante's massive coat "stops the outfit from looking too 'indie'" and features some great little elements, including an ever-reliable union jack emblazoned on the sleeve. "As the old saying goes, 'less is definitely more' here"!

Yeah, but this article was posted recently on Aug 04, so... I figured it couldn't hurt to have a more "professional" opinion on the matter.

Still, I have to agree that "function over form" works in almost in any case -- whether it's castlevania, gow, or even ds2.

This can be summarized: New Dante clothes super trendy.

Yeah, we shouldn't be able to talk about New Dante's look anymore!
It's not like this is the DmC: Devil May Cry section and he is the main character of said game or anything >.>
LOL. Dude, usually I would go:

"IT'S NOT ABOUT THE HAIR GEEZ LOUISE. IT'S A LEGITIMATE COMPLAINT."

But, since I have make an "actual" post (I know Drakan's watching), I'm just going to say this:

You sir, have won this thread. I'm just gonna hand it over to you. 'Cause you really have hit the nail right on the head.

This part of the forum is for DmC; thus, we should be able to talk about anything DmC-related.

[As long as it isn't insulting DmC itself, I mean.]

---------------------------------------------------------------------

This isn't about how much "worse" the fashion, the attitude, or the combat is against the old games; that usually just leads to flame wars. This really isn't about that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

We praise the overall game and Dante's style not because we want a "utopia", but because we've already heard all the arguments a million times before, and it'll end up not doing anyone any good at all to bring it up again.

However, that doesn't mean we're not permitted to say how great we think DmC is.

Dante's stylish, and we're allowed to praise his taste in clothes (and our own taste in games, DmC or otherwise) as much as we want.

It's what the DmC section is for. That's all there is to it.
