A Discussion on DmC's Combat Difficulty

So... I can't ask for NT to add more difficult mechanics to their gameplay?

What you perceive as "difficult" is subjective. There's people on either side of you that could say either it'd still be too easy, or it'd be making it too hard.

You can, but once You learn those inside and out, what are you going to do then?
Just keep looking for more. If I find none, then I'll just ask for more. If more can't be provided, then I'll just go and start learning another game like I've been doing.

Touche'.

Um, welcome to gaming?...
I've already been doing that. Just recently moved onto UMvC3. Within (a total time of) 2 hours, I've already got my team down and already getting the hang of the deeper more technical stuff. I'm proud of myself since It would usually take me months to do so in a 2D fighter.

I just didn't understand what exactly it was you were asking for from this game--or any game. You can't expect game developers to implement game mechanics which forever keep the player at 'Just okay' ability, if the player is dedicated they will eventually peak, and leave their self with little to no challenge. This is unavoidable.

Unless you were expecting Ninja Theory to either;

A) Consistently update and patch the game, adding new mechanics for you to learn.

or

B) Upon your request, send a group of highly trained professionals to your house to lobotomize You while you sleep and make You forget everything You currently know about DmC's combat.

No. I'm not asking for them to do all this now. I'm just saying that they should do this in a possible sequel. Add new stuff for me to learn is all that I'm asking. I don't know why that's so hard to grasp.

I for one am all for suggestions in combat. I think that every player has their own style and that kind of gets conveyed when playing a game like DmC. Eventually you will hit a wall and want something more for your style. I suggest changing up your approaches or trying different set ups. Not everything needs to be a fast and constant canceling game, but maybe you can try a timing approach instead where you utilize kablooey and charged eryx attacks to your liking.

Also, not to sound like a salesman, but Vergil's downfall just came out. In that expansion you can see many more options available to you as far as cancels go. Just check out another thread on this forum to get a glimpse of what you can do. He has two teleoprt dodges to vanish up or down, both of which can cancel moves. There's also his version of pulling and grabbing which also serve as teleports. When you upgrade your swords you can embed a sword in an enemy and teleport them to you or you to it as long as that embedding is still there. He also has timing moves in which you do more powerful versions of charge moves when you release them at the right time (Dante has this too for certain moves). Toss his doppelganger in the mix and factor in the resource management you need to do with his DT bar and you have some meaty substance there.
