I presume what you mean is the film's similarity to Abrams' Trek Trilogy depicting younger versions of the characters? I can certainly see that. The issue, of course, is that the Abrams' Trek movies depicted the classic characters acting so wildly out-of-character...and part of me is bracing for the same kind of cringe from Solo. They couldn't even get actors that resembled Harrison Ford or Billy Dee Williams.

I WILL say, though, as someone who's only seen stills of the trailer, it looks to have the same creative visual vein as Rogue One, so that's a plus. I've also heard that Han is in the Imperial Academy, the Falcon is new & freshly-painted, and Han wins it from Lando w/ golden dice. Funnily enough, those are ALL elements from the Expanded Universe that I follow, & that's not a bad thing whatsoever.

So while I don't have too many hopes about the film being good (it's incredibly likely that I won't see it), I have more hope for it than I EVER did with the Sequel Trilogy. In the meantime, though, my preferred origins for Han Solo and Chewbacca are in the "Han Solo Trilogy" of novels by A. C. Crispin (the books that contain all those elements I listed above). They nail Han's origins perfectly.

rogue one was satisfying for me, for a spin-off, it had different a really really different vibe from the main star wars.. and very emotional too, a big plus.. and you're right, the trailer has the same visual with rogue one, only it's more action-y, much like abrams' trek.. if rogue one is an example, than i'm pretty sure i'll pleased with solo.. PS: not liking the solo actor either
