I'm with you on that, it combined the ultimate universe with the regular one really well, I also liked the plot twist near the end, didn't see it comming
Well this is how I remember Spidey, to be honest. It's why I never really liked Tobeys Spiderman (his Parker is another story though). I had the opposite problem with Garfield, here I liked both sides, for what they were.
As stated on other occasions, the live-action Spideys were never the "best Spider-Men" IMO. The best was Christopher Daniel Barnes' depiction in the '94 Animated Series. MacGuire came close, Garfield missed the marker in his Parker scenes, and Holland isn't really up for comparison since he's depicting a far younger version of the character (similar to Ultimate).
Yeah Andrew was a great Spiderman but a less then accurate Peter. His was more of a smart mouth cool guy then a nerd. MacGuire was definitely a more heroic spiderman then a quipping one while his Peter Parker was spot on. Tom comes off to me as one who relies too heavily on his tech suit and just seems less responsibility, more "this is f-in awsome dude!"
Yeah @DragonMaster2010 he does rely heavily on the suit (not all the time though). I still think this is a spiderman that has a lot of room to grow into the one that people know from the comics.
He relies heavily on his suit? You are aware that that's a pretty big point about the plot, and that one of the main scenes revolves heavily around that aspect. I thought Tom was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the high-school Peter Parker.
