Yep, it's Ryo Akiyama from the WonderSwan Digimon games. Although due to many inconsistencies between the games and the anime, as well as conflicting comments from the writer of Tamers, it's a very messy situation of whether Adventure Ryo and Tamers Ryo are the same person.

I like to think that Adventure Ryo (I misspelled it at first) is indeed Tamers Ryo. I think it makes the character more mysterious. I could be wrong but that's my head canon.

It's a cool idea, and the last Wonderswan game teases it with Ryo having to fight ZeedMilleniummon across many timelines (including Tamers). It's just that the Tamers anime implies that Ryo has always lived in that dimension. The head writer of the show even said that the main reason they used Ryo was for cross-promotion, not to connect the plots of the anime with the games.

Yeah, I really want Ryo in a new game, even if it's just a cameo or a post-game bonus fight. Especially since they've been doing that sort of thing a lot recently in recent Digimon games.

Nah, he only gets the DigiEgg of Destiny in the movie, Hurricane Touchdown. I think you're thinking of the other Drama CD "Armor Evolution to the Unknown" where the 02 Kids get their DigiEggs mixed up. There you have amusing situations like Veemon having to use Patamon's DigiEgg of Hope to Evolve and becomes Saggitarimon.
