Because they wanted to show how low western devs can go with DMC.

Because Dragon's Dogma's western influence can be recreated easier with the whole castles and fighting dragon's archetype. DmC's western influence however required more work that Capcom didn't feel like doing.

They didn't outsource it because they're incapable of making a Western-style game. They were literally too lazy to do it themselves & didn't want to risk another one of their own mismanaging the budget like 4. If they really wanted make a fullblown, Western-style game they'd have hired Sony SM, or Vigil, or Visceral. Instead, hired the smallest Western studio they could find and gave them a pauper's budget.

oh you cheap capcom you.. but i don't think any other western studio could do as good as NT with the physics for action h/s, one thing i love most about.. and capcom actually did right choosing NT for the super risky job

Capcom was lucky NT delivered. It could have been so much worse had this game actually failed

judging from enslaved, i think capcom knows what they're doing, enslaved's combat was so simple, but it got the action and cool part right..

BUT THE GAME DID FAIL. IT DIDN'T EVEN SELL 2 MILLION COPIES. IT DIDN'T HAVE STUPID F##KING DETAILS LIKE RAINSTORM INERTIA AND GUARD FLYING SO THAT MEANS IT'S A FAILURE. PURE AND SIMPLE.

STOP DEFENDING THIS POS GAME EDGY TRYHARD HIPSTERS. DONTE'S GONE AND IS NEVER COMING BACK.

what the hell is rainstorm inertia and guard flying? --is what casual like me think everytime i read that..

Inertia is a bug in DMC4 where you momentarily float in the air. In DMC4, it can be applied to both Rainstorm and Royal Guard.

So, you basically become a super-glitch while bouncing around all over the place. It looks kind of cool, but gets old after the first five minutes.

It's basically Jump Canceling for the Super Hardcore crowd. It's Elitist and disgusting how people use that as a standard of gameplay.
