I'm curious why Japan has called remade games remasters (NG2B and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster). I've read it is a misunderstanding of translation on their part (and maybe vice versa). I figured they were doing it intentionally for 1:1 remakes as to not confuse the consumer thinking it's a whole new, different game (ala the RE remakes, FF7R, etc). Or maybe games that heavily recycle and migrate old assets to UE5 are some type of hybrid and can be called a "remaster". But I don't think so, on technicality.
It is kind of annoying because it just perpetuates the "remaster or remake" debate/confusion. Not call you out, V, but just saying.
