  They didn't infect people on purpose, a petri dish of the cultured DNA was broken on two scientists by complete accident.

  Yep. The Necromorph's were created when a sample of Necromorphic tissue infected two scientists. One turned into an Infector and one into a Leaper.

  The Red Marker was reverse engineered from the Black Marker they found on Aegis VII. Daniel was an agent to prevent the Red Marker from being destroyed, as the symbols on it are the DNA code for the Necromorph's DNA.

  It is unknown on how the Marker creates Necromorphs. My guess is that the Marker causes someone to become an Infector, then the Infector starts to kill and transforms everyone to become Necromorphs.

  I can't tell you much as I only played the game for only one day, which was on Thursday. :lol: There is another Marker located at the Sprawl, and yes, the Marker in the first game is manmade.
