Probably a bitter Southern Sergal, or a disgruntled right hand man.
Eldritch was born with red fur, something that most female Sergals don't have. She was often picked on for that, which only fueled her desire to surpass them, and surpass them she did. She became a brilliant military tactician and leader, leading the Northern Sergals to victory against the Southerners time and time again. When she retired after her five year service, she settled down with Enden and had two children. However, being a military leader, she was not without her fair share of enemies...
He was trained as a soldier at the age of ten like any other Sergal, but he stayed in the reserves because he's afraid of fighting and hates it with a passion, which is dishonorable for a Sergal. So then he met Eldritch, who accepted him with open arms and he had two children, Isa and Rulux. Eldritch was killed and he fell into a deep depression, losing most of his will to live. He would continuously pay homage to Eldritch at the Elgris River, the frozen river that runs through his hometown. One time, Dirge caught him there and they talked. Finding out that each of them had been scorned, they found something in common and immediately hooked up.
Well, Dirge divorces Marshall because she realizes that all he loved about her was her body. She has a daughter and her daughter has an (illegitimate) son, but he pays no respect to them and even sometimes hurts Rain (the daughter) because of her yellow eyes, which to their species is an omen of bad luck.
About Enden's wife's death... I have no clue why it would happen yet. I know murder, but I need a motivation.

Would you like to help? I have no idea about a plot except that Enden (the black one) loses his wife and ends up hooking up with Dirge, who had divorced her husband.
