So, Hayate and the snake demon, Echiru, head into the demon world (the method of how they're going to do it escapes me at the moment...) and there they go to Echiru's "country", if you could call it that. The fertile females are forced to mate with fertile males to produce infertile warriors like Echiru, all controlled by a demon named Archfiend Verel. Verel is forcing the demons to create an army for him so that he can take over the human world and rule it with an iron fist. To this end, he created many demons called Fiends, which are bred only and ONLY to keep the Entah (the snake demons) in line.

Alright. The ninja's name is Hayate Ryasato, the last of his bloodline. He lives as a shinobi, a ninja specializing in assassinations and demonic missions. One day, while on a routine demon extermination mission, he is about to kill the last of his prey, a female snake-demon, when she says something that reminds him of a childhood friend he had who had died by the hands of a rival ninja clan. He listens to her tale of woe, learning that her race had been enslaved by other demons and forced to breed and fight, with no end in sight. That's where the true plot of the movie kicks off.

I already know the history of this battle. The Spartans were soundly defeated, although not without inflicting heavy casualties to the Persians. And of course the movie is greatly exaggerated from the true history.
