The Free Ride move happens when certain enemies are downed on the ground - mainly the Hell Pride, Hell Lust, Hell Envy, Hell Sloth and the Abyss.
Just jump on their backs when they're laying on the ground, and just move towards a certain direction, and press Square to shoot with Ebony & Ivory.
