I concur with the OP. I was one of the three people who didn't hate Nero in 4 and was excited to see his story unfold going forward. In contrast, I absolutely hated his portrayal in 5 and would rather not have him feature heavily in any future games now.

Considering that Serkis played Monkey in Ninja Theory's prior game "Enslaved", I like to think that had Sparda been a voiced character in DmC then they would have got Serkis back to play him. :)

I would argue it is a tad different as DmC was always presented as an alternate take, but despite Shankar's references to this being his "Bootleg Universe" or whatever, people still went into an animated adaptation of Devil May Cry expecting an animated adaptation of Devil May Cry and...
