I concur with the OP. I was one of the three people who didn't hate Nero in 4 and was excited to see his story unfold going forward. In contrast, I absolutely hated his portrayal in 5 and would rather not have him feature heavily in any future games now.
Considering that Serkis played Monkey in Ninja Theory's prior game "Enslaved", I like to think that had Sparda been a voiced character in DmC then they would have got Serkis back to play him. :)
