well i may have had more expirence then a high schooler, but probably not that much. I am 22 years old, and I can count the number of boyfriends i've had using my fingers. The number is 4. does that make me sound pathetic?

that usually is flirting. When I flirt, i tend to grin like the chesser cat, and I also tend to play with the pieces of hair that fall in eyes or I also tend to play with my ponytail. I also tend to fix my hair and check my makeup, that is if I am wearing makeup at all. **That's just what I do.

well ask some your female friends, what consitutes flirt for them, and then if anything she is doing matches some of those behaviors that chances are she is flirting with you.
Wait, for a while....and see how it plays out. If this girl that you like, likes you back chances are she'll let you know soon enough. she'll mostly likely give you some kind of hint that she likes you, if in fact she does. example: I usually flirt like crazy when I like a guy.

oh um, ok then...in that case I would ask her what she meant by that and if she was joking or not.
ok, sometimes when a girl refers to another girl as her girlfriend, that doesn't always mean that the girl she is refering to is her lover. example: there is a girl that comes on this site, ocassionly when she can, (I don't know if she has been on in a while), but anyway, she is my best friend, she's like my sister. I might sometimes refer to her as my girlfriend, but she is not my lover. She is just one of my really close friends.
