Not that I know of, no. It's not based on mythology except for the angels and witches. The demons all seem to be original, meaning they have no mythology behind them. :/

Yep. And the fact that angels exist in the DMC universe too (Fallen are proof of this) means they're ripe for a crossover.
I just hope the angels get a better role... They're pretty cool. Especially, for some reason, the weakest kind. Affinities, they're called. I like their design a lot. Plus they act like frigging morons, which makes them really likable.
I would hope so... I mean, y'know how Dante's contractor is named Enzo? Well, the same guy is Bayonetta's contractor.
Ah, I didn't mean to come off as defensive. I just REALLY like the game is all. Like... I like it more than DMC. That's saying a lot for me, considering I've been playing DMC since the first game and I've only been playing Bayonetta for less than a week.
I'm sure you'll love it. They even have references to DMC in there. Like one of the demons you can summon is basically a hair version of Phantom, and it's name even means "Phantom Spider" in English.

And Bayonetta can walk on walls and STICK there. Like, not move and not slide off.
No, it's just a power she gets for being an Umbra witch. She can also walk on walls when there's moonlight out.
She can also move freely between heaven, hell, the human world, and purgatory.
Oh, yes, she does. She can turn into a panther, a crow, and a swarm of bats too.
She can use almost any weapon... That includes a katana you get later in the game, which is also the best weapon in the game.
That's because Bayonetta made a contract with the demon Madama Butterfly. It bestows her tremendous wisdom and power... Not like she uses the wisdom, though. XD

The demo doesn't do the game justice, I swear...
Like I said, I like it. So let's just leave it at that, kay? Sides, there are a lot of songs in it that are good. Like the battle music when you fight the Cardinal Virtues, and the final boss. (not gonna spoil it, unless you've already spoiled yourself)

Everyone seems to hate the music in Bayonetta. I thought it was fitting, so I liked it. -
