  • oh ho ho! You know this means I have to get you back now. Again. ;)
The cutscenes are what's supposedly scary. There're a few "mutation" scenes that are delightfully gory. I love those scenes to death. The polygonal graphics make it seem not scary at all.
It's a relatively unknown horror game for the Dreamcast. There's this meteor that hits a plane your character's riding in, and it crashes, leaving you and a little girl as the only survivors in the Canadian tundra, battling against all sorts of mutants that used to be humans. The only way you can tell they're a monster before they "blossom" (transform) is that they have green blood, not red.

It's third person when you're exploring, and it turns first person during combat. During combat, you're rooted to one spot while the monsters close in, and you're allowed to shoot wherever. You get EXP after every fight, so it's kind of like an RPG as well.
    Untrue in the extremes.

My dad won't let me play D2 because it's "too scary" even though I've already secretly beaten the damn game.
They don't get motion sickness though. They just hate FPS' because they think it's rubbish if you can't see your character. They're very picky. A game can be absolutely awesome (Metroid Prime) and they won't play it because it's FP.
Yeah, my parents are gamers. For some reason they can't play FP games, though. They say it's "disorienting".
I see you read about that lawsuit that Sony and Squeenix are going through. And my parents refuse to stop playing FFXIII. I'm afraid that it's gonna go ker-klunk one of these days. :/
Oh, THAT room. Yeah, the engine venting chamber. I loved torching the Twitchers with that.

BTW, I HATED escaping the exploding UMS Valor. Too many 'splosions for my tastes.
Oh, those gravity panels? Yeah. I like luring them into those. The nice thing about Pregnants is that if you manage to get one into there, it'll kill them and tear them open, but no Swarmers or Lurkers will come out. Good stuff. ^_^
The Dividers ARE really creepy, yeah. It's that low growl-moan noise they make.

I've come to nickname the Twitchers "Sonic". You probably know why.
What I liked to do was stasis them, then cut off an arm and stab them with it. Then they'd fly back in slow-mo and it'd look all epic and stuff.

BTW, what are your least favorite Necromorphs? I have three. Brutes, Exploders, and Dividers.
