Yeah, I know you all saw this coming, but I didn't think it would happen right now, you know?

"It seems rather appropriate that just seven days after the US government hit a whopping $18 trillion in debt, mainstream financial media has picked up the IMF’s recent World Economic Outlook report, which puts the US economy as #2 in the world."

It's hardly surprising that China was going to be 1st sooner or later. Labour is cheap there, businesses from US and all over the world have things made there or imported from there. Of course the Chinese economy was going to rise to the top.

However, this does come at a cost for the people of China. Some parts, the quality of life is awful and wages can be pretty low for the factory work. Then there's all the industrial pollution in the air and in the water; and all of the constant building work needed to keep up with demand. I guess that's how it is though.

I just hope with China's economic growth that everyone can lead better lives there once they have worked out how to be a superpowered industrialised nation. Just seems like I read a lot of stories about China recenty with bad human rights, machines at factories killing people, roads breaking from bad quality or exploding children's rides.

They've been teaching 'business Chinese' in unis for years for a reason.
