i just dont see how any legitimate fan of the series would want a sequel to have less combat depth then the previous game

DMC 2 sucked worse then 1 and was hated

3 was amazing

4 combat system was even better

DmC combat does not have the depth of DMC 4 even oppressedwriter admitted that DMC 4 was deeper.....

i just dont see how you can go from amazing comabt system in DMC 4 to mediocore DmC

It's mostly debatable. I find that DMC4 has more depth to it and pushes the player more to really learn what they are doing with their combos. But that doesn't make it for a fact better. As long as it has in depth combat that works well it will come down to player preference as to what is better.

With most DMC games the combat always seems to take a few steps forward but also take a few back. It is up to us as players to decide if it took more steps back than forward. DmC can be tough to range. It has it's own developed gameplay that works well, but aspects that worked very well from previous DMC games were removed.

You say dmC's combat is mediocre when in actuality its steam lite for more people to actually play it. It's all a subjective opinion I guess because while you say its worse I say its better. The reaction of attacks are slicker and faster. The switching between weapons is on the drop of a dime (in DMC4, do the million stab attack and then try to do high time while still in the million stab animation. You can't. Now do the same in DmC. See, drop of a dime.)

Plus DmC may lack in fast, flashing light, heavy mechanical, gameplay, but it makes up for it in style, dexterity, and a keen eye on your enemy in doing combos, along with knowing the distance of your attacks, how your weapons work, and a good quick hands.

Such is the example with these combo vids

Plus

woo hoo! another person who doesn't like DmC! That's a rare one around here!

You don't have to worry about legitimate fans wanting less combat depth than the last game because they don't, the majority of the fanbase hates DmC remember?

So, what do you do just keep posting the same nonsense here and twisting my words out of context. DmC has loads of combat depth, and my exact words were something akin to DmC lacks the flash and teleport abilities which make it have slightly less depth, but that was before I figured out how to do this:

This topic seems to recycle itself over and over again... ugggghhhhh

LOOK, EVERYTHING ABOUT ALL THE DMC'S FRIGGIN' SUBJECTIVE, AAAAAAIIIIGGHHHHTT???
If someone's gonna post something negative about DmC, whether it's Dante, characters, design and yes, since we're on topic here, TEH GAEMPLAYZZ, then that'll be the most original thing I've ever heard. :meh:

LOOK, not everyone has to be an EXPERT SSS Rank player to fully enjoy the damn game. Hell, go play the game at Nephilim, Son of Sparda, or Dante must Die if you want a bad ass style of gameplay. Switching between weapons Angel and Devil arms put quite a challenge to me, especially when i had to prioritize shielded Frost Knights! So yeah, one of the things that made me enjoy the game. Not everything has to be too fast paced. Hell, i damned enjoyed DMC3, (went "meh" towards DMC4, i felt Dante's parts lacked a lot), but i enjoyed this as well, with the ophion being the most USEFUL thing in DmC for me..

I thought we'd already hashed this topic out before with varying topic titles amounting to the same thing.

This sort of thing is subjective. We're never going to come to an agreement over combat. Some people actually prefer DmC combat, some don't. Ramming opinion down on people isn't going to change their minds.

It's not a question of want. Fans didn't ask for this and have no say. Besides, judging deepness is subjective.

Also, 'legitimate fans'....really? A fan is a fan, let's not get into this whole 'legitimate' rubbish. It brings the fandom down.

Tell me about it
Tony_Redgrave would've locked this thread in a POW camp by now, and then lectured us on why the OP was spouting BS, all while respecting the opinions of both skeptics and supporters.

It's been a year already since the game was out. I would've thought people could find something new to move to. It's only a game, so I don't see why there is still such a big deal over how subjectively bad it is.

I wouldn't mind, but it just seems to be dragging up things already done to death, and it nearly always ends in an argument.
EXACTLY!

I feel DMC3 is superior, you guys feel DmC is superior. But in the end, it's a complete matter of opinion. No matter how much we argue, we can't really change each others opinions. And in the end, the one who walks away from the argument is the one who makes the other look like a immature brat who can't stand to lose

I don't think any game is superior. What matters to me is having fun. I don't like DMC2 at all, but I won't go around telling people who do like it that they're wrong and expect them to agree with me.

It's fine to have a debate and put valid points forward, or even offer opinions, but when it turns to arguing or my opinion is fact, that's when it becomes a problem.

Can we take what our nice forum member Loopy said and make it a rule for posting on this forum? Seriously, because she pointed out something that had to be said sooner or later.
