I'm not going to be very helpful, but I'd go for all options.

I'd like to see how Sparda rose up against his own kind, and how he met Eva and how he changed for her. However, playing that game, you would know that by the end you would have to lose somehow due to Sparda being absent from all the games.
It would be like playing Final Fantasy Crisis Core and knowing that Zack was going to die at the end....I guess if they could give Sparda that same sort of heroic ending, fighting against hoardes of demons, then using his last strength to defeat Mundus and close off the demon world, then that would be pretty awesome.

The downfall of Vergil would also be great. For me, I'd like it to be connected to the DMC3 manga. I want more information on how he met Arkham, and how he unlocked each of the seals to raise the demon tower.
The game would also need to contain flashbacks of Vergil's past to show us how he became the way he is. I'd also like a fight against Dante just to tie it in to DMC3 when Dante says it was a year since they last met.

Nero after DMC4 is another good option. They can give the poor guy some good backstory and character development. I'd also like to see the return of the devilbringer. I missed using that.:p They could also expand on what that Japanese only book said about Nero setting up his own shop for demon hunting and facing the mistrust of the people of Fortuna.

Finally, Dante after DMC2. They've left this story hanging for too long. I want answers. I also heard that they intended to send Nero into hell to save Dante...and it would have included Lady and Trish. So, that's all pretty awesome to me.

^ Of course i want to see a Sparda game too. But right now what sounds most exciting to you from the options.
All of them:lol: That's why my reply won't be helpful.

If I really had to choose, I guess DMC2 sequel. I want questions answered and I like the ideas they were going to include.

i say dante after DMC2. i say this because, a game that takes place after DMC2 can give us a lot of explanations. like, what happened between dante, trish and lady. it can also further go into nero's future as well. not only that, we can learn more secrets about sparda and his mysterious history.

I would have gone for both Vergil and Nero. Better if those two options could be united. Resolve plot issues about Nero, and while doing that maybe show us some Vergil, since I am going with the (semi?)official version that Vergil is Nero's father.
AKA show us how in hell and heaven Vergil is Nero's father in a credible way (you know, those issues with the age difference and Vergil hating humans and so on). :ermm:

Vergil doesn't hate humans, at least in official books. He hates himself and his human feelings, that's why he chooses the demonic path ( besides the fact of his mother's murder).
Other thing, Dante has no qualms in mating with demons, so why should Vergil had qualms on mating with humans? If they really are the shadow of each other, this seems to be logic.:/

I really dont believe Nero is or was meant to be Vergils son.

If he is, why has it not been explained? Surely we cant assume its because Capcom had plans to explain it later on? ITS CAPCOM!

I think they changed main character to Nero in hope of making more appealing to audience. He has a headset for example.

Buit then fans started speculating "NERO must be Vergils father huh huh!" then Capcom gave in to that and is trying to validate this speculation in attempt to cover up the story.

I think Vergil from DMC 3 was a ripp off from Sessomaru from Inuyasha. And having that as basis let's look at what Sessomaru's sword (katana) is like:
Tenseiga allows a powerful wielder to see and slay the beings from the underworld, as well as bringing up to 100 beings back to life one swing. And it should be noted, that the Tenseiga has a mind of it's own, as at various points, it has been seen talking to Sesshomaru by telling him things like wishing to be drawn or giving him advice.
The key point here is Tenseiga (Sesso's katana) has a mind of it's own and is related to supernatural spirits. And it also talks to Sessomaru from time to time.

And what happened when Nero activated Devil trigger using Yamato as catalyst?

1) He said "Power...i need more power!" - Vergil's line
2) He had a spirit appear as a extension of him.

So one can argue that Vergil's demonic presence is still in the sword.

But do i think Nero is Vergil's son? No...thats pretty "WTF is going on?!" to me.

They created Nero just to give him the Devil Bringer( I'm no joking) because it would be weird to give it to Dante, since he had a full devil trigger already.
And...because Capcom was always willing to do fans biddings, the plot story became an hot mess.Capcom will bend to fans wishes whatever they ask. Look at DMC4 Dante: people asked him to be be exactly like DMC3 and we got that " thing".
While we are shipping characters or filling plotholes, Capcom never thought of that, neither they lose time thinking on it.
We do they're jobs for free...:troll:

I really dont believe Nero is or was meant to be Vergils son.
At one point he was supposed to be Vergil's son. Recently an artbook has been released in Japan that says that Nero is the child of Vergil.
If he is, why has it not been explained? Surely we cant assume its because Capcom had plans to explain it later on? ITS CAPCOM!
It hasn't been explained because this is Capcom we're talking about. For whatever reason, they decided not to make Nero Vergil's son in DMC4, even with all those hints...and that book released only in Japan that said Vergil sired a child with a hooker....which is totally out of character for Vergil anyway....
I think they changed main character to Nero in hope of making more appealing to audience. He has a headset for example.

Buit then fans started speculating "NERO must be Vergils father huh huh!" then Capcom gave in to that and is trying to validate this speculation in attempt to cover up the story.
Nope, he was actualy going to be Vergil's son. That artbook proves it. No idea why they didn't put it in the actual game though. All we got were hints.
I think Vergil from DMC 3 was a ripp off from Sessomaru from Inuyasha. And having that as basis let's look at what Sessomaru's sword (katana) is like:
Everything is a rip off of everything these days. Inuyasha is hardly original either. Throughout history, there have been tales of brothers fighting, demons and magical powers.

In the Japanese book, it describes that spirit as being a part of Nero, not Vergil. However, I'm not sure if this book can be considered evidence anymore due to how messed up the plots are...then again Bingo did work on other DMC games before writing this book, so it is official in a way.

So one can argue that Vergil's demonic presence is still in the sword.
There's something in the sword. I would have said Vergil too, given the evidence, but then there's that book...so now I'm stuck with the spirit being Vergil or Nero's soul like the book said..

But do i think Nero is Vergil's son? No...thats pretty "WTF is going on?!" to me.
I wish he wasn't Vergil's son. He's nothing like Vergil....but since that art book came out and said Vergil is Nero's father, it's official.

Do me two favors Loopy, please dont write in the quotes - instead split them up by making a empty quote and copy that , and paste it liek 4+ times til u got sufficient amount of empty quotes to adress all of the post of mine.

And also dont say "Everything is a rip off", i say this because yes...rip off happens alot. It does, and thats a fact. I am not denying it.
But if you want to dispute that "Sessomaru is not rip off than Vergil" then i would appreciate if you adressed that ratehr than just a general statement of how everything is a rip off.
Originality of a work that is being ripped off will not change the fact it has been ripped off or not.

Lets take standpoint in this Yoshi rip off ok?
247643-y.jpg

If i was to argue for that Era's adventures ISNT a rip off from Yoshi games, i wont be proving that by pointing that "Well Yoshi has ripped off too".
All i would be proving by talking about originality of the thing being ripped off is the originality of it, and possible what IT (Yoshi) has ripped off from OTHER work.

So please dont bring in originality into the discussion. Because even unoriginal characters can be ripped off.

As for the artbook, i will search for it, as i need to see that.

Remember a little thing: novel and that book says exactly that Nero is "a" son of Vergil, implying he probably sired twins.Hooker part: it was Sanctus that speculated that, since nobody was pregnant at that time in Fortuna and Nero didn't buy it. It was Vergil who brought his infant to the island. I think his wife/lover was very much like Kyrie( with a brain) or Eva: a dame, a lady, not a hooker or a action girl.

My main discussion was about how you didn't think Vergil was Nero's father, and was saying how you could be wrong. So now you're off on one....agian. Look back at what I was saying. I spent 1-2 sentences on rippoffs, and the rest on how Vergil and Nero are related.

It's in this forum somewhere. In the general section...I think.

Remember a little thing: novel and that book says exactly that Nero is "a" son of Vergil, implying he probably sired twins.Hooker part: it was Sanctus that speculated that, since nobody was pregnant at that time in Fortuna and Nero didn't buy it. So there's more than one.... Vergil's been busy....
It would make more sense for him to have a child with a woman who was like Kyrie or Eva, the hooker thing just seemed too out of character for Vergil.

No, he just has a good aim !;) I didn't get why people immediately believed Vergil would mate a hooker if that is against his character. Novel implies too Vergil knows Nero is his child: he appears to Nero in dreams in a constant manner.Nero described his glare as ‘cold’, but at the same time he could feel a touch of ‘gentleness’ .Nero was his love child, not a " one night stand accident".

Fine.

Then if you are not denying that everything is a ripoff, then why don't you like me saying it?
Because it serves no purpose other than stating the obvious. Anyway you gave me the impression that you were disagreeing when you brought up that Inuyasha is not original.
But nvm it then.

You're the one saying he was a ripoff, and I was AGREEING with you. Sheesh, you don't even like me agreeing with you now?
Yes, i dont like you agreeing with me! You stop that!

Jokes aside, no i just got wrong impression, i've seen people try to invalidate rip offs by saying "Everything is rip off these days " or "Well the X isnt original either".
But ok nice that you agree :p

You're the one saying Vergil was a rippoff. So, what's your problem now?
Got wrong impression so i responded accordingly making a point that a thing can be ripped off independt of it's degree of originality.

My main discussion was about how you didn't think Vergil was Nero's father, and was saying how you could be wrong. So now you're off on one....agian. Look back at what I was saying. I spent 1-2 sentences on rippoffs, and the rest on how Vergil and Nero are related.
I got your point about Nero being Vergil's son, as for the rip off sub topic - as i said above: you gave me wrong impression.

Aim:lol: I guess he does...

For me it was more like struggling to believe Vergil would be with a hooker. It just didn't add up with what fans know about him.
Plus, each time you hear about that particular story, things get changed slightly or exaggerated for effect, so it's hard to know what to belive with regards to who Vergil was with.

It makes more sense then if Vergil was appearing to Nero in dreams and that sense of gentleness too. I just found it hard to think Vergil would be with a hooker and then abandon the child after.>_< Vergil does seem more like the guy to pick a woman of class and intelligence...like a sense of only having the best as the mother of his child.

I think it's in Vergil's character to have sex with a prostitute. He doesn't want to get attatched to people or have someone get attatched to him, and a prostitute is a good choice.

So, I suppose Vergil had a familiar life with his children, but his lover ( or most probably wife) died, maybe giving birth, maybe being killed by demons as his mother was, so that was his psychologic trigger to his change. He hates his humanity( his feelings) because , as we know so well, love could be painful.

I was thinking back to the manga of DMC3, how Vergil was saying something about not liking women with makeup and women who want to be adult too quickly...called her a whore as well I think? So, going by that, he wouldn't want to be with a hooker seeing as...well...they're hookers.
