Where has the “horror” in Survival-horror gone?

Yeah, It seems that what most game developers want to draw in the FPS crowd. I don't care for games like Call of Duty or the like. When a game is advertiser as being a scary horror game; that is what I expect. Not a thinly disguised shoter with jump scars thrown in.

Developers just need to realize they need to cater to their own fanbase and realize some genre's aren't for everyone. You make a game that caters to everyone and it's not going to have an identity of its own, only the title will define it.
