Wouldn't it be cool if some new demon king or god re created Sparda to fight Dante but Sparda had his mind but no control of his body so throughout the fight Sparda asks Dante about Vergil and that he loves him

In the classic DMC, there was always a sense of mystery surrounding Sparda's past, so I don't know if they'd be keeping it the same for DmC.
I could see Vergil fighting Sparda in the DLC, but only to get his power. I really could see Vergil killing his father for that.
Personally I believe they need to leave Sparda the **** alone. In the old games, I loved how he never really made the important cameo that people wanted to desperately from him. It added an almighty sense of mystery to the character and made love for him grow even more. Sparda is a LEGEND not something to just randomly pop up here and there then die as fanservice. The legend of Sparda needs to be left alone and preserved. I mean sure in DmC he should maybe have a picture of some sort, but thats it. S
I'm just saying you don't have to know his story only that in a DMC game when Dante is older a demon god has been collecting the lost essence of Sparda and with his sword he creates a zombie like Sparda to fight Dante seeing how Dante seems unbeatable why not put him against his father to see who is the true legendary dark knight but it's not like Sparda is quiet he has his mind just no control of his body since he's under a spell
The thing is DmC Sparda has no legendary status, he's just some incompetent boob who knocked up an Angel, betrayed his race and was stunned, stunned, when Mundas tracked him down to the highly inconspicous location of a gigantic manor house that he has been living in for nearly a decade in the middle of the city Mundas owns.

It really wouldn't destroy his mystique to have him reappear as a plot element because he doesn't particularly have any.
I like this idea, in fact I'd be surprised if it isn't the idea they're going with for how Vergil transforms into Angelo.

When it comes to DMC5 (which I know is probably never going to be made), I would love to have Dante meet Sparda at the end of the game to conclude the classic DMC series. Not in a serious battle, just a little father-son scramble during the credits.
That's cool to that would be a awesome idea but I also want a serious fight just to see what Sparda is capable of
I'd prefer, that if there is a Sparda boss battle (does not matter which series), it should be a secret side boss, that way it would be pretty much non cannon, and it could be a test of skill without having to dumb it down for the sake of the story (which it would be). Look at Rhodin from Bayonetta or some of the Kingdom Hearts games (Sephiroth, Lingering Spirit etc.).
Honestly, the whole "Well, it's better we never actually see him or find out what happened during his rebellion since it REMOVED HIS ALMIGHTY MYSTIQUE" is getting tired out and becoming a cop out. That was the exact same copout the directors and writers who worked on the classic series always gave for never giving any details about the characters. "Well, it ruins the mystery around them." More like it means they'd actually have to be creative and work it out instead of being lazy and make excuses NOT to make the info work.
I want to see Sparda's rebellion in DMC Classic, and I wann'a see what made him turncoat on Mundus for Eva in DmC's universe, when Sparda IS one of the Devil Kings...which means in the demon world, he IS a legend, enough that Mundus couldn't just kill him out of hand and could only exile him. Rather odd that if Sparda was just "some incompetent boob", he wasn't killed like Mundus did to Eva...so there is more to the story than what Vergil told Dante/us.

I don't think he rebelled in the same way as classic DMC. It seemed more like he just walked out and lef Mundus, shacked up with Eva and had the twins. There isn't any change of heart or fight for mankind. Once he's in the human world he disguises himself as one and just lives a regular life. He seems more interested in his own family and keeping them safe than saving other humans.
Just because he fell in love with an angel doesn't mean he suddenly thinks demons are evil and that they need to be stopped for the sake of humanity.
He was Mundus' right hand demon and his blood brother as stated by Vergil. The betrayl must have hit Mundus really hard, so hard that he thought killing Sparda would be giving him an easy way out for his crime. Sentencing him to an eternity of torture and pain is much more fitting for betraying a demon king.
That's the thing; all we know is what little info Vergil gave, and considering that Sparda is still alive, it says that there's more going on that we're allowed to know. We know in DMC classic, Sparda took on Hell, and sealed the gates...I doubt alone, but he was more powerful than Mundus, which says something...mostly that they grossly OPed Classic Sparda, but yeah.
With DmC Sparda...we don't know what exactly happened. There's more to the story than given...I wann'a know what exactly happened, and just how Sparda got taken down.

Eva does sound genuinely surprised that they were discovered, which would suggest that they should be safe from detection. How? Help from the Angels? Were they betrayed? By who? Why? What part did Sparda play in Mundas' rise to power? Does Virgil have the full picture, remember its the winning side that writes history? etc etc
There is more than enough there to spin into an interesting tale, should they want to.

For some reason I always figured that Limbo city was a testing ground to test his control over the humans until he expanded his empire.
The comic has them giving out a new improved brand of Virility drink to the public and this wasn't too long before the start of the game.
Plus that news article in the game says that Mundus only came to be head of finances a week before the start of the game. So it's only recently that he has aquired so much power by forcing the President to give him that position. However, the article also states that Raptor news had been active prior to that.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that when he tracked down Sparda, Eva and the twins, he didn't have the same kind of power, so they should have been harder to find, but he got them anyway.
Lilith says Mundus used hunters to find them. Would they be like the same hunter that came after Dante?
Something else that bugs me: It is shown in that art of Mundus taking out Eva's heart that he is in Kyle Ryder's body, so what was he doing that whole time between killing Eva and then being head of Silver Sacks a week before the start of the game? That's what....over 10 years to take over the world, but it seems like he's only just done it fully by the start of the game after he bullies the President.

I bet she would be surprised, bunch of demons turning up at night and raiding the house. Sounds like Sparda was there too from the way she was calling to him. So why did he let his wife die like that and in front of his son? And how did Sparda escape the house with the twins without being found? Did Eva give her life as a distraction?
It seemed like Sparda and Eva's plan was to just live like normal humans and hope that they weren't found out. Eva says to Dante that they chose their path knowing that they would die eventually. She new that they could not hide forever.
As for how Vergil knew, he says that their old home showed him his answers and secrets. That's how he explains it.
