The old fans are not to blame by the lack of sales

saw a topic like this coming a mile away lol.

But I agree that the old fans or as some supporters would call the more hostile ones "haters" are not to blame, there are other factors to consider here.

Its Capcom's fault for alienating and splitting the fandom, the fans had a small hand in it.

Both sides of the fanbase and Capcom to me are to blame. NT were just doing their job.
Not really NT pushed for this direction they created the game if they really wanted to keep it the old franchise or even create a part 5 they could have but I stead wanted to do their own thing which pushed people away

Nope.

From what I heard from Capcom and NT it was CAPCOM who pushed for this direction and change not NT.

And believe me when I tell you I'm not even a big NT supporter around here, but to say NT pushed for this direction is false.

If you want to think reaaaaaally hard about it, absolutely everyone's to "blame" for DmC's not too amazing sales.
Some played bigger parts in it than others, but it was a combination of a lot of different actions by everyone involved that ended up fabricating the game's not too amazing sales.

I was under the impression that NT had the intentions of keeping it closer to the original and Capcom basically told them " to redesign everything or else they could just make it themselves again" I'm not 100% sure but I could have sworn I read that somewhere.

After unlocking dat artwork in my PC version I would have told them to change that **** too.

Yeah, that's actually something I can agree with. I did prefer combat in DMC and DMC3 even though I still had fun with the combat in DmC. However I preferred the overall design and characters of the reboot. Thanks for answering.

There is a thread basically identical to this already.

The fans are 0% to blame, it's not like we have a duty to fork over our money, they have to convince us to give them our money, and if many fans think that their impression of the game pre-release means they won't buy the game, then it's everyone's job whom it is to convince the fans to buy the game's fault.

I'm sorry to seem out of the loop but when was it implied that the fans were responsible for DmC's low sales?

The original idea for the game was very similar to that of the previous games. Though, Capcom told them to change more from the original series, stating that they would have made the game themselves if they wanted it to stay the same.

Would rather they just kept it the same there was really no point to reboot the game
