What DmC should be!

This Thread will be about what you think the New DmC should be about.

Personally and i know most of you will hate me for saying this but perhaps the Next Devil may cry should not about Dante, we have all had many great adventures with the red half devil half human hunter but Devil may cry is a big world, you cant tell me Dante is the only bad ass Demon hunter out there and Nero doesnt count, he was practically the same as dante.

Why cant the new character be a powerful Magician, or a fallen angel searching for redemption, game developers are so afraid of taking any major strides these days because theyre so afraid of loosing money.

If they are so intent on making a prequel they should go all the way back to sparda and his rebellion against the demon World, That would be EPIC!!!.
 
i agree with maybe making a devil may cry game about sparda, or another character like nero, or vergil, but you see that if capcom went with that major of a change people would be even more angry than they are with DmC. i mean you see how angry people are with DmC and they've changed a bunch of things, but i do agree with you about sometimes people need to take chances and make changes.
 
Changes that are good not awful. I'm talking in general not just DmC.
 
The main problem isn't Dante, it's how inconsistent and directionless his journey has been.

So by starting from point one jives with me.

But for future games I would like for them put Dante in a myriad of scenarios that showcase how varied the missions he takes are. You have the whole earth as a setting and all mythologies in the world to use as characters. Use em.

I think a couple of crossovers are in order since people want to se what would happen if he met viewtiful Joe or Amaterasu etc, etc.
 
I think just a variety of different missions, like z218 said, with real mythology (ironic) thrown in

Wait... wait... so to make his journey more consistent and make it get a direction he is supposed to jump from and to every place in the world? How does that work?
It's like saying Ninja Gaiden 2 had a better directive and consistency than the first. O_o

i was thinking the same thing. How could putting random characters into dmc help anything? leave that to MvC where the story doesnt matter

I meant more in the timeline sense. i dont want one game to take place 10 years later only to have the game after that to jump 20 or so years backwards. i rather they just go in a straight line with a clear intent for the series and how events fit together. i still dont know where 4 takes place in the canon other than it may be after one.

im not saying for him to jump around the world in one game, I'm saying for them to think of other settings for the series other than some european castle. Lets go to japan or china or the sahara or the amazon or even lets go to other dimensions and fictious places. i want to see dante go to atlantis or valhalla. I want to see him **** off Sun Wokung, the monkey king and get played for a sucker by anansi the trickster god. i want to see him rub a genie's lamp or cross swords with king arthur. Not fight some old dude who wants to be god because he doesnt want to grow old and die.

dude, you were the one who said. i just wanted them to think outside the box when coming up for scenarios for the game storylines not have him run around the world in one game. im sick of european castles and old dudes who cant die.

im not saying not to give them a good reason for existing together since you can but it would be interesting to see them together and give you a sense of other people outside dante's office.

I dont want cameos, but yea, locations were cool in dmc4, but it lost its spookiness/resident evil feel. And i always liked that from dmc and onimusha. As for mission scenarios, i would like to see how decent the platforming is and enemies who are just are dangerous in the air as they are on the ground. I dont want to have to pick this up and walk it there to open this door and then fight(rinse/repeat) Maybe some exploration in mansions. even escort missions would be fine, just dont over do it.

True, would be kinda epic. But none are demons though. <.<
Sun Wukong doesn't really sound like that dark gritty experience.
Anansi I must say doesn't sound like it either. I dunno how King Arthur is a demon or how meeting him would be different than a european castle and genie's just doesn't feel DMC. D=

Hellish and demonic landscapes however, would be epic.

Plus I don't want all enemies to be the same or even the scenarios to be the same.

Then what other creatures instead of demons would want Dante dead?

Demons = the same?
Just because they are demons the scenarios will be same due to what?

Someone who's inventive would be a person able to go further with one idea without tearing it out over someone who just skips between several basic ideas.

Yeah, Dante care. In lore, he cares. He's a "Demon Hunter". He kills demons and humans who oftenly tries to get the power of demons or trying to realease demons. It's all demons, everything. You don't change what makes DMC what it is. You delve deeper into it.

"Why should Dante fight mythological creatures? Maybe he should be in the vietnam war, using only guns for once. They should change the whole "fictional" nature and make a mature and realistic game instead. No more demons, no more swords or strange weapons but instead a fight against the vietnamese in a real historical event with only guns. That sounds like something that would make the series alot better imo."
Yes, a radical example, but I make it radical only for you to see what I mean.

you guys are asking me the same thing just different sides so ill answer them at once. Any creature who would see Dante as a continued threat to their existence as a human-hunting species or because they just hate demons/ humans and since he is the defender of humankind or maybbe even demon kind he is gonna be a bstacle to overcome.

Dante would want them dead they could be bad guys who want us gone because of some reason and he aint cool with it. or vampire who want to turn us all into vampires or elves who want us gone because we are ruining the earth. he would be against both since he doesnt want us dead and would put him in conflict with them.
