I played all day yesterday and it's pretty damn good, but the hype has hurt it a bit.
All my issues with the game may be fixed further down the line when more stuff gets unlocked I don't know but:
The hunting takes a bit of getting used to, but once you've got it down, it's really immersive, though I'm disappointed with how it relates to Camp morale.
I've hunted dozens of deer, rabits etc and donated them to the camp and haven't noticed any significant change so far.
I haven't got down how the hunting bait works either, I place it in a remote area and wait in a bush nearby, nothing happens. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
As per usual with Rockstar games, the melee fighting systems sucks balls. I gave up on trying to block, throw and just resorted to spamming attack.
I haven't figured out how to customize the clothing options fully yet, like how to roll sleeves up and tuck pants into socks etc, but it may show up down the line, but there are some great options there.
Something I have a love/hate stance on is how fast your health depletes when getting shot, on one hand, I like how it makes you plan out on attacking a gang camp and choosing your weapons carefully, on the other hand, I'm always getting killed in less than 5 seconds in surprise attacks.
However the game map is huge and incredibly detailed, even knocking some rocks down a hill causes more to fall with it. It's the little things.
After one full day of playing I both love the game, but still feel like it's failed to live up to the hype, at least so far.
I'll reserve my full judgement until I've finished.
