Wait isn't it kinda obvious from DMC 3 and DMC 4 that he CLEARLY doesn't give a damn about sparda because he actually never met him in person ? the only reason he there was money,force edge and Yamato and he just found nero on the way so he started trolling him.

Why do i need to ? DMC 4 dante by nature is very immature just compare DMC 1's dante and you'll see a sweeping difference in seriousness and maturity.

That's what you're doing.. you're assuming that Dante is compassionate when his actions&behavior is clearly far from noble and mature.
You're assuming that dante had more reasons to help nero when dante himself admits that he had personal reason for fighting sanctus.

That's what he does.in the ending... except he gives yamato to nero because he just felt like giving it for DOING HIS JOB !
DMC 4 dante was SO LAZY,SO SELFISH that he took advantage of the young demon to defeat sanctus instead of doing it himself.
I'm kinda happy that he didn't get anything in the end because that money belongs to nero.
