So, for those of you living under a rock or something. If you have GameStop, EB Games, ThinkGeek, or Micromania stores in your area, this is your like "2 week notice." This thread is in response to a status update that says a Gamestop in his area has closed down. This is part of a 3 series "turn around" plan by Gamestop corporate...
"Phase 3" entails store closures... Rumor has it that they'll axe 2,000 stores, but it will happen in phases. If your store is closed, its part of that 200 stores closing down in phases...
They're even axing regional, and corporate management...
This isn't just because of sales, because while everything seems to be going digital, games are still being sold physically, anyway. There's a lot of people who would buy games physically. I am one of those, but GameStop's woes goes even deper than just associates, and managers. It goes all the way up to district managers, too.
